    Good Weekend

Love that you got a topwater fish in 29 degree weather....good job guys! Consistent. J
  6. You'll go a long way with the LDC production (standard issue). Its comparably priced to a lot of the higher end production rods (Loomis, Dobyns, etc) and has two features I can no longer do without: longer handle for more leverage and a nice tuck when your retrieving and the spiral wrap that loads up "right" when a big fish turns the heat on. We are definitely biased over here (speaking not for everyone of course) but for me thats after a 20 year run using Loomis BBR's so if the performance wasn't there I wouldn't have switched. The Loomis I was using was actually more than the LDC. Also, you get a lot more than a fishing rod when you get one from LDC you get a point of contact from someone thats passionate about SWIMBAITING and stays up to date on everything swimbaiting. Thats hard to put a price tag on. In my opinion you'll save yourself time, money and wondering by giving the LDC strong consideration. J

  12. Thats a good question. All the gill glides I've seen thus far have a super tight s-swim to them...perhaps someone can chime in with one that swims wider. While I'm sure someone will figure out how to make one that truly glides like the trout/minnow versions....I believe the issue is with the inherent shape of the bluegill profile that is tall and stubby. That shape is not one that naturu=ally lends itself well to gliding through the water. Some will say bluegill don't move like that but I think that wide motion is a trigger that will cause trailing fish to eat at times when they won't hit a bait that just tracks straight or slightly off center. Of course then you have the polar opposite "non actional" baits coming out of Japan that literally don't do anything.... : ) Its a never ending maze. J
  13. Good fish there man, 30 seconds of adrenaline.....what color pattern is that on your bait?? Halloween?? JK

  21. I agree man, it just kills me that I lost that fish after putting so much time into this bait and finally getting another solid opportunity to land a good one on it. I gotta say, every bite and follow I have had with this fish has been a good one, it definately attracts the kind of fish I want to catch I will definately get me some bigger ST-36's to try, what size would you suggest, 2/0 or 3/0? I would match the sizes that come on the bait. If it was me I'd probably run a 3/0 up front and a 2/0 in the back on that bait. Of course there's a tradeoff with the thinner wire being more likely to bend but they do penetrate with a little less force because of the thinner gauge. Hooks are very personal like fishing line and everyone has their preferences. I run the softer LDC production rods and mono so that system works for me. Guys running the customs and other stiffer blanks and really lay into the hookset need the extra strength of the 41's so it depends on your style and setup. The great thing is you have confidence in that bait getting bit' so the hard parts done. JK
  22. A refund offer has been made upon receipt of the reel and a quick verification of its completeness. No claims were made in my post that were known by me to be otherwise. The reel has never been used in salt and I have personally never viewed the internals. JK
  23. FFFFFFFFFF Yeah! Thats awesome bro! Thats a quality fish by any standards and a hell of a fish taco feast! (Yes its ok to eat them : ) Props for gettin' it as well on your bait. Really stoked for you man! J
