  1. Brush on Devcon 2 to seal the bait. That should do the trick, but personally I would probably find a non-cracked one.
  2. I took a hammer to a lead bullet weight and pounded it flat so that it fit in the lip. To test the fall rate, the was deps dropped in a 5 gallon bucket filled with water. I continued to trim the lip weight until I got the desired fall rate. I had to pull the weight from the lip and trim several times as I didn't want the bait to dive head down. I wanted the bait to fall as horizontal as possible. I then glued in the weight in the lip. Nosing up problem fixed.
  3. I bought a 168 sized s-waver. The 168 size is really small for those on the fence about buying one. Take BigSlant advice and pickup the 200 size.
  4. One of our members Marbles posted a video a few years ago on night fishing. It was full of lots of good information.
  5. Plano box 3731 is a good choice. You can fit a bunch of hard baits and it cheap enough to replace in case you crack the lid. If you are worried about scratched baits get the one with dividers. I have used both extensively in the past. If that isn't big enough for you get the Plano XXL 7080. Be warned- the XXL is HUGE and will require several baits to fill. An in between option is the Flambeai 4510 and remove the dividers. It is a little more and offers rust protection. I used this box on my most recent trip. I liked it so much I ordered a couple more. If you don't care about bulk and want to hang you baits get a Lakewood box. I like the concept, but the box is too big. If you bring it on the boat it will not fit in most lockers. It is study enough to stand on. I still have mine, but use it for soft bait storage in the basement.
  6. Mickey repaired the bill on my Wake Jr. Good as new. They will contact you for repair cost. It was ridiculously cheap.
  7. Make sure you have a mask. I would try to troll around to locate the snag with a deep diving crankbait before going in.
  8. My buddy just received a Moam. I was really impressed by the build.
  9. I like the Costa Frames that block some of the peripheral vision. I think it allows me to see into the water better. Also you will want to take some measurements or try on a pair beforehand (if possible) to get a fit size.
  10. You want the Yellow or Cooper lens for low light conditions. I have two sets of the Cooper and the third pair is in the drink.
  11. FYI 30# braid isn't enough. I use 80# when tossing the Rising Son.
  12. Everything I have read that RM discontinued the South. I have caught several Ozark fish on mine. EDIT: Just check the RM website. They are in stock.
  13. Bummer. I wish they never discontinued the RM South.

    NBA

Bad officiating? Warriors shot 40% from the field and made only 69% of their FT. You can't get behind 20 in the first quarter. On to Game 7.

Tonight game should be great. I want the Cavs to force game 7.
  16. <------- this fish was caught deadsticking a baby wake then a twitch. Edit: I also caught them straight waking the bait and using hard slaps and pauses. Go with 80lb braid for the win.
  17. Tacklewarehouse has always done me right. I place several orders every year. Mistakes TW has made they corrected no questions asked. Mistakes I have made TW made it right. Yes, they have deleted some reviews. If you have read some of the previous reviews on the Roman Made Mother, they were obvious troll attempts.
  18. It happens. Go buy another. I would rather spend my time fishing than looking for baits.
  19. Fishing on Memorial Day weekend with all of the Googans? ROFL. Good luck guys you will need it.
  20. Likely the line was already damaged. Rocks, trees, and zebra mussels come to mind (in my area). Might want to check the rods guides with a Q-tip to make sure the damage is not coming from there.
  21. I just want to say what a stand up guy Ceasar is. Last year I ordered a crank-n-wake from Ceasar. I requested a custom paint job in table rock pattern. Because it took longer than expected to ship Ceasar threw in a second wake-n-crank. I was in no hurry to receive the bait as winter was settling in, but when I did I was shocked to receive two baits! The custom paint exceeded my expectations! Looking forward to more Toxic bait releases.
  22. Are they even hitting the top of the water column in Ohio? Having grown up there, the good top water bite doesn't really start coming on until May. I would sit in deeper water and drag it across long points or work the 10-15ft range that your boat is sitting on.
  23. Stick with it. The top hook model has been money for me.
  24. I would try a lob type cast. I find this highly effective way to toss big baits.
