That's interesting, but don't patents only cover specific traits of baits? Like mechanics of a design or a physical features? I don't make baits, but I am curious on how they work with baits though.

You know I really have never thought about differences in line diameter to this extent before. Some good opinions, conversations, methods and observations. My brain is kinda fried after reading it all. Though I personally use Maxima mono for all my swimbaits. But I agree with bigworm it is pricey but I haven't had any problems with losing any baits or breaking off fish. It actually is some pretty tough stuff. But it's basically all I have thrown, good to hear what everyone else thinks.

Haha Thanks! Unfortunately it is true though. Yours is hilarious to! Because I just took a friend out a couple of weeks ago and forced him to use my overly expensive swimbaits. He didn't catch anything, but he got a half dozen strikes. So now anytime I see him, he gets all exited about throwing them. Though now all the swimbaits he sees at local tackle shops are now inferior to him.

Haven't heard that. I try to stay away from locals. I got sick of them following me around trying to figure out what I was throwing; apparently freestyles and wake jr.'s are reel fish that they can catch! And besides, as long as the bass are fine the world is just a happier place. Maxwell
