9” under 6oz. Still working out the kinks for both the weedless and line through. Because it’s such a thick bait it doesn’t fold in half as needed for the weedless so I’m working on that next

Doing my hollow potion of thr weedless bait on the bottom portion of the bait as opposed to the top like most baits you see. This gives more meat where the hook goes through yet still let’s the bait compress when bit

I don’t know if anyone else is like me in that you carve a lot of baits that never get finished. I’ve started 2 different softbaits recently and then changed my mind again and grabbed a blank that was sitting from a year or so ago and decided turn it into some thing. My goal is a top pour bait 9” that can be made to fished with a beast hook or as a line through herea what I got so far IMG_3533.MOV

Chis, I think you misunderstood what Butch was talking about. The hooks lay flat as the bait swims because of the light wire. As the bait moves the hooks swing back against the body. Heavier hooks do not. As for the orientation of the hook points, my opinion is that you are over thinking it. If the fish smokes the bait and presses a treble against the bait, two hook points press against the bait and one pokes out hopefully sticking the fish. It doesn't matter how they are orientated for this to happen. Mike

Took me 5 castings to get my ratios dialed and a couple different Bill shapes. Its ready to roll now though. The black/blue bait is black resin (dye). I used Pearl powder and prism flake to dust the mold. I like to do this with my prototypes rather than paint. It holds up well and you can make some nice patterns

Super Glue works great on pourous woods like balsa, redwood, WRC but like your noticing has some struggles to it. Biggest is nasty smell and getting things like fingers and gloves stuck to baits. To really do super glue right, You need to dip then wipe with a rag so you don't get the drips. I used to use it on AYC and it was not as effective because AYC does not allow it to soak in. So it forms a thin skin which is easily compromised with hook points etc. Also Note that you used to be able to buy a gallon of thin super glue for a little over $100 but its probably been 7-8 years since I have bought any so I'm not 100% sure anymore.http://www.e-zbond.com/Product.htm

the rear weight in the new style is inside the plastic. It still can be done but will be nose up version if you want it to be slow sink. If you want it to get down add more weight to the front and its solid for fishing deeper.

Fish are gonna be rocking some new piercings with the braid. Find some assist cord.
