I haven’t had to much luck fishing them slower, but I know a lot of guys do. I fished them slow when I first started fishing them because they seem to always turn to one side or the other when you are reeling in at a decent clip. I add nail weights to get them to swim a little truer and reel at a pretty good pace. Bump them into everything, rock piles, submerged trees and brush etc.

I have a couple Swimbait rods to give away to a youngster or any older folks who are hard timing it. Nothing special, but it’s something if you need it. Okuma Cerros and Carrot Stix Wild Black. 8 footers. Both like new. Sat on my boat for anyone who hoped on but don’t have a boat anymore. Meet at Silverwood Lake anytime.
