  1. With my new Bootleg Series of ABS baits ready to release I've decided to do a giveaway for the members here and other virtual platforms. I will be giving away two baits to winners chosen at random from this thread. The winners will be able to choose between the "Toxic Shad" Wade Hoggs or Wade Jr. To enter all you have to do is be a member of the Swimbait Underground community and post a picture with a fish you caught on ANY swimbait large or small. That's it. Im really really excited to be able to bring these baits into the community after a long while in development. These baits are basically knock offs of their resin counterparts the Wade Hoggs and Snapper. These baits were built to perform at the same level as our resin line at half the price. I hope everyone has a great day. We will pick a winner Friday March 1st.
  2. Some of the nicest hooks I’ve used. A not stronger than 1x hooks, I def trust them a lot more for larger fish. Can’t speak on downsizing hooks, I’m not into losing big ones
  3. Haha this is an old one. Tora tune on a weightless hook is one of my best follow up baits for followers that don’t commit
  4. It doesn’t matter. People like to make up a lot of differences but either way works. You don’t miss bites or get overpowered. Just pick a side and go for it. The key is practice and experience on the water.
  5. They recommend the st-35 to keep the rear hook from hanging up in the tail section, which happens often with a lot of hooks. I don’t use 35s often but def the best way yo go for the TK.
  6. That is pretty awesome. Those pull!
  7. I equip my baits with the treble size that’s a balanced fit for the bait. Bait width, action due to hook placement or style. Mainly bait width. I want the trebles to be as wide as the bait. But I also know people downsize hooks because they think it gets more bites. Nothing I can do about that. I personally use st-56 hooks on a lot of my baits but don’t put them on the baits as stock hardware because I like the idea of a baseline treble. 1x but large enough to handle the fish that eat the bait. As for looking goofy? Not sure. My buddy who stacks big fish on the wade hoggs will only throw 2/0 st-36s on it. They look huge but he says he loses no fish and gets plenty of bites, big ones. I wouldn’t equip the bait stock with those tho because they can hang on each other often which is annoying for some people. As a manufacturer there’s no correct answer for us. No matter what we do people will like em or hate em. So not sure about others, but I do the best I can to find the middle of the road for everything. I encourage people to try diff sizes and styles. I do on everything, every kind of bait. I’ve tried em all and use a variety of hooks. Like deps 250 for largemouth I’m using gammy bronze 1/0 or 2/0. For striper same bait BKK vipers. On the other hand some baits do require specific hooks tho. Drt TK comes with the split trebles stock for a reason, so the rear treble doesn’t hang over the tail section. trying it all and giving everything a fair shake takes ALOT of time, I thinks it’s best to have a 2-3 fav trebles that cover the spectrum of strength and style and try those on various baits. I just can’t help it I’m a tackle junkie and have to try everything I see lol
  8. Jr swims works for the small stuff I make and the large swim works just fine for the larger baits. I think the gen3 series is the best deal around. Great performance for a pretty good deal. Rod choice does come down a lot to personal preference but I’m happy with all the rods I’ve used from that line of Irods
  9. Gen3 guides are def small. That why I had the Sniper Swim mad with larger guides for braid to leader applications. That being said the Poes mag stick is great for braid to leader. Tops out at 4oz for glide style baits imo. 3oz lipped baits is where I draw the line for the kaimana 794 due to the added resistance on retrieve. The 804 mod fast kaimana is also nice but a bit larger and clunky for 2-3oz baits imo.
  10. I can tell you first hand… the new LDC standard issues are straight fire…
  11. Net and grips. Net to scoop em out then grips to get the trebles out lol
  12. Braid, braid to flouro, copoly they all work. Depends on the cover for me.
  13. I switch em out after a bunch of solids or after a fish over 6-7 lbs I switch them right away. Also most of the lighter wire hooks seem to need replacing after 4-6 fish either the points are rolled or they are weakened but I usually stick with 3x if possible. Only ones I haven’t bent out are the bkk vipers but those are 4x lol
  14. Is there current at the lake?
