  1. Look up Rotenone. I do believe the great state of Kalifornia is known to use it to control (eliminate) pike in a certain body of water. Unfortunately, it is non-selective and kills all fish. That's what it was... Unfortunately "they" are the homeowners association, and they did it because the place got pretty popular (which I wasn't happy about either). Too many kids started to fish at night on the private side, and thus, they eliminated the problem at the root. Sucks.
  2. I went to one of my favorite lakes yesterday with my roommate in hopes of sticking a fish on my new Baby Possum. Fifteen minutes in, a dude comes by and asks us if we've caught anything. "Not yet" "Not surprised, they put a ton of fish kill in the lake two weeks ago." Gone. One of my favorite lakes. Caught my first swimbait fish here on an 8" hudd. First night time swimbait fish on a Mission Fish. Sucks, man. Sorry to vent. Time to find a new everyday lake.
  3. Bro he literally said "I don't have time to separate it so make an offer on the lot"

    Cool kicks

Yeah then he would catch you Sorry, I actaully use the buff since I fish in 100 plus degree heat, I know I'm suppose to use buffs at night, my bad. LOL, I use mine when night fishing to keep the bugs off my face/out of my nose. I could not possibly care less what I look like LOL
  5. Some people really like to write, myself included. I'm pretty damn good at it, too. Seeing as fishing is one of my biggest passions, I could write about it all day, all week, hell, all year. LOL.
  6. I think the original 9" Slammer is one of the best baits you can buy, period. I really like the 12" too, though it is important to note that it is strikingly different to fish than the 9". More of a twitch in place type deal. But yeah, 9" original is a heck of a bait, and will catch you many fish.
  7. I've also caught a lot of my bigger summer fish on bluebird post-frontal days. Weird. A lot of bigger fish on rainy days as well.
  8. I've caught fish on Slammers, rising sons, triple trout, Wake Jr., etc. mid-day. I think weather is the key factor.
  9. SD Jam or Palomar, really don't have a reason to use anything else anymore. I can tie both in the dark pretty quickly when I'm in the night fishing groove.
  10. Man that is the WORST. I hate when you have to wait till the weekend is over. It's like... but... but... I was trying to fish those baits THIS PAST WEEKEND! LOL.
  11. On the other ROF 5 there is no hook, now this version has a hook, dont have to add one. I should gone and looked at the 8"s for I asked that haha I figured it out when I read through the description on tackle warehouse. Don't most people cut that b!%@# off anyway? A lot of people do, a lot of people don't. All boils down to preference.
  12. Nice fish and sweet bait. That water you're fishing looks tight!
  13. I've had an 8" in Scaled Hitch for about a year now, and have caught a good number of fish on it. Overall I like the bait, definitely see it as more of a search and destroy type bait than a tool for specific conditions. No big fish on it yet, but hopefully that will change as I get more time to fish. My only complaint is that they roll when you stop them during a retrieve, and take a couple cranks of the reel handle to get themselves upright and swimming again. I've been throwing mine on an 8'6 Production Heavy/Lexa 300/25lb Big Game. I would prefer CXX, but otherwise this is a really solid combo to throw the 8" TT with. Launches it a long way, with good backbone and flex for when the fish hit while you are burning the bait back. Definitely a fish catcher and worthy of a place in my lineup, it's just time to stick some bigger fish on mine.

    Walk the Dog HOG

Nice fish Dan! I just got an 8" plastic Punker... I must suck at it cause it doesn't walk real well. Keep on em!
  15. x10. This is a huge part of swimbaiting that I think a lot of people don't know about/don't consider. Fish can hear EVERYTHING you do in your boat, and they can feel the vibrations of footsteps if you are walking along the bank. There is a huge stalking aspect when it comes to trophy bass hunting. I definitely need to work on this. It's pretty tough and can drain you mentally, but if you stick with it I think it is much more successfull than randomly tossing a possum around all day.
  16. x2, try running baits parallel, at angles, off the front, back, sides, etc. try everything and see what works. When you start putting together a pattern, stick with it until you get it completely figured out. Good luck!
  17. Damn that perch baits looks niiiiiice! I'd never seen them before. Anyone sticking big ones on them?
  18. Add to that: OD Rat Kincannon Rat Trap Bass Baits Rat/Mouse MS Mini Slammer CL8 Water Vole Toxic Rats - (these are sick)
  19. Just to recap: CL8 Possum & Baby Possum Nezumma Rat Jonny Rat Morning Wood Rat PB Rat Woodrow Rat Dirty Rat/Generic Rat Any more that I'm leaving out? I'd like to have a list of rat baits to try.
  20. x2, sweet reels for a great price.
  21. Sweet, have you caught any nice fish on them?
  22. Add a whistle, some chest hair and tube socks and you coulda taught gym class in the 80's Nice fish. Short shorts are making a comeback... just a heads up. Chubbies are the perfect example. Nice fish kid

    LDC XH

LOL, I did this the first time I took my custom XH out... was throwing a 12" Slammer and went to throw it at a tree line at the pond up the road. Ended up throwing the bait OVEr the entire tree line, LOL. Was quite the shock. Then I stuck a 4 pounder, so it was all good.
