Swimbaits actually catch fish in illinois lol My dad finally let me borrow a wake jr and the first night with it out I had 5 blow ups and a 4lber! Don't know why the other 4 didn't hook up.. They were decent fish!

Okay I'm just getting into swim baiting and have picked up some TTs, a Matt lures hard gill, some 68 specials, and a plethora of 316 hard and soft baits . But I fish some Michigan lakes that have a decent amount of pike how do you guys keep the toothy fish off your baits?

Havent decided on custom or production. I fish in Illinois and Michigan and I want just one rod that will throw all of the smaller to medium sized baits. I'm playing on throwing 6-7 inch tts p, baby wakes, wake jr, mission fish, hudds, punkers, and light alabame rigs.
