  1. Congrats to all the winners here. Contributors and recipients. Awesome deed done. Hope all enjoy the new toys, especially the young guns.
  2. That looks really good Deltaman! My lake house in Wisconsin is loaded with those. Think I need one....
  3. I'm in if there is room. Didnt see this until the morning.
  4. Nice review Carl. The rod itself looks really sharp. The blank and action you describe sounds a lot like St. Croix rods/blanks from my experience. I use both Croix and Dobyns, and there are certainly differences (pros/cons) to both. Looks like you'll be waiting until spring to see how it actually handles with a fish.
  5. Lol that's awesome! I'm not much of an ice guy myself. Never really have gone out on ice and pounded fish. Cold water walleye or jumbo perch is always a treat though.
  6. Great fish Gary. You had much better late season fishing than I did. I went through a pretty bad cold spell through Thanksgiving. Now we're both in for the long haul.
  7. $100 plus fees. last bump before I pull it from the market
  8. What baits are you looking to throw? That might be a better start to help answer your question. I've been fishing St. Croix rods for a long time and Dobyns now for the past few years. They're both excellent rods and I use them both all the time. The mojo bass rods are a tad tip heavy but its got a strong back bone for a 1-4oz rating. I've thrown everything from punkers, slammers, to hardgills, 6" hudds and 175's. I use it for a multipurpose rod now and don't really dedicate it to an individual bait or bait style. For the price point, it's not all that bad and it landed my personal best musky. I don't think I would spend the money on another at this point because there are other rods I would personally want. That's not to say I regret or dislike mine, just that I have other priorities.
  9. This is what we call "rubbing salt in an open wound". LoL. I tried to manage a fish or two on Thanksgiving and couldn't even get bit then......AND i threw a jerkbait for a while which is like 99.9% effective.
  10. No talk of price. After this debacle it may be priced beyond my wallet. If so ill wait for the black market to get one.
  11. He replied to a comment on FB to me about making a smaller version. That beast is 11oz. Much much bigger than anything I throw. A 7-9 inch in ~6 oz would be great.
  12. I have a gen 1. What exactly do you want to know?
  13. My wife thought it was a hilarious idea. She's the devil.
  14. I ordered one and it came really quickly. Like less than a week i think.
  15. ...for now. Some where out there are bass under ice. Already started reorganizing the fishing room. In for the long haul now.
  16. Lol. The kid in yellows face is priceless. Good luck with your search.
  17. Winter is here. Ice is on our waters already. #depressedmode
  18. It's a collectors item at this point. Still a lot of money but if someones willing,so be it. I actually think its a cool bait the way it resurfaces. I'll get the smaller version when he makes it. Perhaps there will be refinements made to the production pieces.

    Jurassic park

My brother lives in Littleton. I should show him this as he isn't that big into fishing but tries to get his kids on fish occasionally. They'd be in 7th heaven if they hooked into one of those beasts.
  20. Yea i know. It caters to a select crowd. I just can't forfeit a mortgage payment for a toy and I dont own a closet of Hinkles to make up for it. Lol i got kids to feed!
  21. You lost me at retailed for $800.
