  1. I traded a guy a couple posts up * cough..buzzed baits * a couple of Fatback shads for a 3:16 a little while back...they weren’t getting fished but I loved those baits...
  2. 3 - 4 feet, depending on the bait. There’s some variation in there.
  3. Almost, but it’s bigger and moves a little smoother if that makes sense.
  4. If you’ve got some sinking Becca’s they should serve you well. One of the best shots at a dd in NC.
  5. Crank it down and then fish it like a giant jerk bait. Underutilized bait and technique.
  6. You’re going to be in a great spot then! Should be on Shad balls in the coves and on the flats coming out. A-rigs or somewhat deep cranks when you find bait or a Carolina rigged fluke. For swim baits - soft Shad baits or freestyles, but you have to get them down.
  7. What part of NC? Big difference in the sand hills nearer the coast and the mountain lakes on the west side!
  8. I was fly fishing below Abrams Falls in GSMNP park and saw a bunch of small use holding in a pool about 100 ft below the trail. I made it about three steps before the ground gave out and I pinballed down the slope - broke the fly rod, bumped my head, both elbows, a hip, opposite knee and was bleeding from various spots. I looked like I lost a fight with a tree line. Hiking out I had multiple people ask me if I was ok, one even offered to call the rangers. I did catch a few of those small use on a ultra light that was strapped to my pack that somehow survived the fall.
  9. I was going to say - that’s some big cheddar for Tennessee lakes...maybe the Chick if you can guarantee something over 8 ...
  10. I thought they had moved to TN - what lakes are they guiding on for that kind of money?
  11. I have a 6” Hph - what are you poking to trade? I was looking for a KGB Shad, workhorse, or a few smaller baits for my 10 yr old
  12. Or actually- the CL8 gide is small, quality, and inexpensive
  13. Cl8 Mouse or Muskrat and hang on. As far as a glide - short casts, questionable cover, and no fear - I’d go with a shine glide in a smaller size.
  14. What kind of knot and do you have any pics? Either something with your knot or your tip guide would be my guess. Bumpy as in the line is wavy or bumpy as in the lines itself is rough?
  15. I’ve never had a problem with Matt - he’s a stand-up guy and a great bait maker who makes great baits and stands behind them. Not saying I doubt your story, just saying there’s something else going on, maybe something with the USPS. Three weeks wait with current conditions and bait makers is nothing. Maybe you should be a little more patient or swimbaits aren’t for you. Do you have a tracking number?
  16. What Good Year said above - been there a few times. Only other thing I could think of is epoxy in a micro guide causing it, but more than likely something went wrong when you strung the rod.
  17. That is bananas!! I can’t imagine trying to land that while shorebound!
  18. Fish>No Fish I have been riding the skunk bus lately.
  19. OG Deps 175, Metalize color way, 15 lb CXX in clear
