Haven't had as much fishing time as I hoped so far this year, but I did get out last Sunday and picked up a nice one on the Slammer, my first decent SB fish. Didn't weigh it, wasn't very heavy but I wish the body matched the head, she was pretty thin, which is strange for this place as most of the fish I catch there are healthy fatties. The hit was fantastic, and I had another huge blow up swing and miss a little while later. Now I know why you guys are so into throwing these things, it is a blast and I'm all in...

The wooden Glide-Bait is a bait that’s being made by a saltwater RI plug maker that has decided to make some freshwater LM baits still in the R+D test stages but the finished product is not that far away. Thanks for the replies guys. Sweet looking bait....That RI plug maker certainly knows who to pick as his prototype SB field tester!!

Thanks for the welcome all......Mossypumpkin....yes, I have lived in pretty much every corner of Maine in the last 15 months (work related, LONG story!)...lived just south of Bangor in Winterport from May thru early July last year....didn't get out as much as I wanted but did get into some beautiful smallies....it is a great area....if you ever get down my way (Hiram) let me know....there are way fewer people in these parts and pretty much anything that is not a trout is considered a trash fish....its a lot like the County in that respect...fine with me....I don't think they have seen may SB's.....

Beautiful fish Dan....I had the pleasure of watching you work live in action a few years back on a small Mass (north shore) pond....I (name is Chuck) was in my kayak chasing stockers and saw you catch a 4, and then a beautiful 6+ largemouth......you might remember idling over to me to take a few pics of the big one....I was impressed to say the least....I've since escaped Massachusetts to southwestern Maine (about a 2 hour drive from the pond we met on) and am just scratching the surface on the bass waters up here....they seem to be VERY unpressured...its trout country...caught some nice ones last year on standard baits, but this year I'm diving head first into the SB world....picked up a Mojo SB rod and am building my bait collection.....have already learned a ton from this site....
