  1. Thanks guys! The best part is that it was caught on a wake bait that I made. It's been getting a work out this season. I was cranking it down about 2 feet along a drop off and saw her rush up, grab it and take off. I usually fish shallow dirty stained water and this new spot has deep clear blue water. It was pretty cool to see since I never get to. I'm starting to figure out this spot and looking to get into something a little bigger.
  2. Went out for an hour or so last night and caught a couple dinks, then had this nice little toad whack my lure 10 feet in front of me. And of course I forgot the code for the lure give away, if that's still going on. Been in a 4 pound rut. Felt good to get over 5 again.
  3. You mean these? I'm done with 36's. I wish the 41's had the same point, but so far I haven't had any trouble with them.
  4. looking sick man. what paint are you thinking?
  5. Wow man. More patience than I have. Looking forward to seeing the progress
  6. Pics of fish? Maybe a video showing this versatility?
  7. I guess that could potentially be a problem. I've been wood working for 15 years and have never had a problem with oiled projects taking paint after primer, just use the right stuff, not motor oil. Thin super glue works great too though, and dries basically instantly. I use it a lot.
  8. People use all sorts of stuff to actually seal the wood. Oils, super glue, vinyl sealers. I've even heard of people using epoxy to seal baits before, not that I would. My train of thought is that you want something that penetrates, like an oil, or really thin super glue, so that when you get hook rash or ding it on some rocks that wood will still be sealed becaue the oil soaked in instead of sitting on top. Some people soak their lures in mason jars full of oil for a few hours. There's all sorts of stuff, just do what you feel comfortable with.
  9. Thanks, coming from you two that's a real compliment. I wanna get away from photo finishes and just start airbrushing, but I think it's gonna be a while before I get that down to the point where I'm happy enough to show it off haha.
  10. Thanks guys! I'm not really sure how to go about that, I might just leave it how it is. I've been using melted down worms of whatever color I wanted, cut to the shape of a tail. I might mold the cut down bbz tail and just keep melting worms for the mold haha. Here's a video of the first glide I built, before paint. I've since gotten them smoothed out a lot more, and a wider glide. Moved ballasts around, messed with the hinge gap, and overall weight/length. I have realized the bigger the bait the wider the glide, and the heavier the bait, the further it'll glide out on the pause. I might try a 10 inch next, and see how that does for me. Hopefully Friday I'll be able to get some video.
  11. So I made one. 8.5 inches, and 3.5 oz. Photo wrapped and then airbrushed to fade it all in. Recycled BBZ tail haha .
  12. Looks like I need to head across the bridge and do some fishing.
  13. +1 Fish eat fish. Just gotta do it. Tie on and keep chucking.
  14. Haha, no scale and a makeshift live well, sounds like my kind of fishing. Nice fish. This weather sucks, definitely has em screwed up.
  15. Hahaha, those damn squatches make some funky mating calls. Watch out night fishing!
  16. Nice catches! Both the fish and yourself haha!
  17. Hahaha the mighty bite! With it's lifelike bite marks and scent sticks, the fish won't be able to resist! I got a kick out of the TV commercials.
  18. Thank you sir! I got an order in last night for some transparents and some pearls. I'll check that website out also. I've got about 10 lures that need painting. I'm good at making em, too scared to paint em haha. My stuff should be here by Friday and give me a weekend to mess around with it on paper and other stuff before I spray any lures. I got a few of those Spro knockoffs to paint for practice too.
  19. Tossed the whole shoe department right into the lake. Haha
  20. Did you foil those, or is that one of the base colors? What paint are you using? Just bought an airbrush and curious what people are using. From what I've gathered, Createx is the lure painters standard
  21. I saw that on IG! I was wondering what the back story was. Looks like a great afternoon. Atleast the fish didn't flop in the water and leave you wounded and without a fish haha
  22. Nice fish! Same thing is going on here, 2 nights ago I was watching big bass bust on shad literally all night long. Blowing them out of the water. Glad it's finally turning on again here in the east.
