There won't be a limit on the stocker trout. Buy as many as you want but there is a limited quantities.

Vary your retrieve to see what they want. Alot of people think that fish don't move in cold water that's wrong. They move alot, most of the time they are chasing bait because the water is cold enough they don't wear themselves out. Shad, gill, perch, etc.. Find out the size and the retrieve and you'll get them.

I have dragged a hudd beneath the school and had someone success also try fishing just outside of the bait ball or back away from it cast straight into it, let it sink a few feet then work the bait away from the school. It looks like a straggling fish. It works good for smallies eating shad.
