Fish it for what it is and look for a 4x4. Or sell what you have and buy what you want

Personally I fail to see where the term "monster" is used when describing this reel. Shimano took a reel made for small soft plastics and jerkbaits, made it a higher gear ratio, put on a bigger handle and did a fantastic job at marketing it to guys who would pay $600. There is nothing special about the internals at all. That's just my .02 cents. Looks dope though

I've always wanted a DC MD but I couldn't bring myself to pay for one because I know if I actually use it it's going to be a problem. I have enough reels sitting on a shelf already. The main problem is that the closed off handle sideplate holds water. Water sits in the sideplate and has nowhere to go and ruins every bearing in that side of the reel. And there's really nothing you can do about it. Thus picture was 90% of MD DCs I saw. Totally corroded within 2 years. Very similar to the tranx problems though. The reels hold water with nowhere for it to go. Plus the fact that micro module gears get geary feeling within a few years.

If your getting impatient after a month then your in for a looooong ride haha. 1 month of no response is nothing. Try about 6 months per response. Think of it as a surprise gift because when you actually get it you'll forgot you ordered it. -
Is the ar dog seated right?

Yes your missing 3 parts on each reel. Bnt3305 Bnt1337 Bnt686

Might be a tough one. You could try to send Daiwa Australia an email to see if they have the parts available and if they'll ship them to you. Then just have someone swap them. How much do you want for the reel if you sell it?
-
Yeah once it starts the reel cover will take off anything that isn't bonded well. You could always spray that section with clear just to stop the peeling

In my experience its about 50/50 shot. I've had some that get very minimal wear and some that get it bad. I think I heard someone say somewhere that the metal parts may be galvanized. This would make sense to me in terms of paint adhesion. If thats true than its probably a loosing battle. This would also make more sense in regards to why the intro price was so much higher than other similar reels on the market. I just got into the habit of putting on a reel cover on any reels when they weren't in use. I do have 1 Z with cerakote sideplates. Should hold up well. Whatever you do just have to watch the tolerances for when it goes back together.

+1. Used to drive me crazy when guys with VS and Stella's would ask for 150 yard topshot tied braid to braid connection.

I wouldn't worry about either being sealed just get them serviced each year. They're shimanos so they're going to piss thru x ship bearings whether they get salt in them or not. If anyone's opened a tranx you know those seals keep water in better than they keep it out. Most are a disaster inside, especially if they get wet. I'd rather have a reel that drains well than is sealed any day. Conquest isn't sealed by any means but at least it drains. If your even in the same ballpark with price go conquest 10 times out of 10
