not available in stores - is silicone based but I prepare it myself (it never peels off and bonds to the body permanently)

  10. One more thing. In german is called "Abbeizer". The closest translation would be "paint remover" or "paint stripper" Found smth very similar to what I used (at least I think so) here http://www.thepaintedsurface.com/paint-stripper-safety.php BE VERY CAREFUL BUDDY, THE THING IS SUPER DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH. You must use it with care and follow ALL the safety instructions: proper mask, airing, etc
  11. You need a solvent (thinner). Now, you are right to be concerned about damaging the resin body. Reason being that in 90% of the cases we talk about bodies made of PU resin. PU=PolyUrethane. The clear coat is also based on PU (automotive one for instance). So, you can get rid of the clearcoat but you will also "atack" the resin body. So it is a matter of touch and go, and good timing, so success comes with experience... Normally you need to let the lure soak for a while, but for how long is impossible to say. Besides, many lure builders have different ways to coat their lures. If you are lucky, you have a lure that hasn't been primered (cough...), some cut corners and this will work to your advantage. What I said above works for lures coated with the normal stuff, if the lure is epoxy coated, pretty much you can forget about it. Epoxy can be removed only mechanically... I hope i could be more help but what I have here you don't find in US. Best is to go ask at a specialized store that sells auto clears, they should know their trade and recommend you an effective solvent.

  14. @MagicMan, I don't wanna start anything, I just have a question. I noticed you tagged me and my question is why does this thread has these tags: hinkle hph 3:16 Lena? I think is a legit question being one of the tagged parties but having nothing to do with the bait you are reviewing.

thank you. the soft shad I posted was just a prototype and I didn't like how it looks like... the new ones are gonna be way cooler than it
  16. It's a mexican guy who copied my bait one to one. He just molded the deviant shad and now tries to sell them. so all in all: less detail, sloppy joints, no wire through and poorer swimming action but SAME PRICE. Basically you pay for a Porsche but you get a Honda. So better buy the Porsche. :ps: he couldn't mold the tail also since the tail was glued with a bad ass industrial glue hehehe

Bryan, I only make the hard gliders shad and crappie for now - absolutely zero extra time. Imagine I'm working on softies for about a year already and I'm still not done... I'm a single guy operation so it takes time but hopefully I'll be able to offer the softies in fall.

  19. yeap. they will do the trick and will last for ever. only disadvantage could be that they may hinder a bite being so rigid.
  20. @Grady assuming I know what I'm talking about I'd say there is also the time factor involved. But basically you are right, a good handmade resin bait, well balanced with nice action that catches fish should be for an 8-9 " around $100. Both the maker and the customer will then be happy. On the other hand, cheap machine made baits won't come close to a well made handmade bait. @blckshirt98 Hype aside, there is just like grady said: no miracle bait outhere. Especially the beginners will think that fishing a $200+ bait will catch them good fish. No such thing. This is just my opinion and is not necessarily correct

Haven't decided yet. I'm inclined towards an internal harnes system, with a BB rig on top (were I will put a slot/sleeve also) and a bottom eyelet. Also considering a weedless system, but this would be for next year, cause right now I don't have the time.

Thought I share my first try at a soft bait: is a 6" shad, still in the prototyping phase. The final version will have extra details, like fully 3D fins, some more refined details under the mouth, stuff like this. Never thought the position of the 3D fins would matter so much but I found this the hard way... slightly modified angle and the bait starts helicoptering under water or comes to the surface too fast or swims on its side, you name it. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Finally I got it right and I'll try post a picture of the final version of this bait asap. Till then, enjoy this picture of a midway prototype. Hope you like it.
