    That size split ring is for conventional gear like crankbaits/jerkbaits. If you use them on a swimbait and hook into a large fish you're gonna get your feelings hurt. Get yourself some owner hyperwires in sizes 5, 6, and 7 and you will have just about everything covered. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!!

    I swing for the fences every trip out with Swimbaits. There's just something about knowing the next cast you could catch the biggest fish of your life! That's enough to keep me motivated.

    I fire the 250 out there as hard as anybody and never had an issue. I will admit that my first time I felt the same as you but after a couple of hours casting with it you will realize your not gonna hurt it .

    Keep the 867! It will get the job done with the huddleston and it will keep fish pinned like nobody's business with the 250. It's the most versatile rod in the line up IMO and my personal favorite in the lineup.
