  1. I hear you bigworm, sad indeed. I left Humboldt after high school about 20 years ago, but I have some very fond memories fishing for steelhead in the 6 rivers, kings in Klamath, trinity, mad, and eel. But the lagoon is what started the sickness from the beginning, when I was just a little tyke, catching limits of planter trout kept me entertained. But as I got older and steelhead season came to an end I used to go up there and slay giant LMB on smithwick rouges. One day I personally witnessed probably a 10lb lmb crash a rainbow in the very south end of the lagoon (where the lilys used to grow, and there was one giant redwood that extended into the water for 80ft) , it blew my mind, I threw anything I thought would resemble a trout then...this was still way before anything like a hudd. I even caught a few on a K-14 kwickfish...lol. Good times, takes me down memory lane to when the addiction began.
  2. Winter 1)8in hudd 2)BGC 10.5 3)Deps 250 Summer 1)TT/ Al-e-baby 2)BBZ 8in 3)Slammer/Rat Fall & Spring=who knows,....its like swimbait junk fishing. I try and keep an open mind and roll with what the fish tell.
  3. bigworm....lol. I grew up in Eureka/freshwater. Nothing about Humboldt or the emerald triangle is urban...urban to us is a 5hr drive south, or 8hrs north. You ever go fish the the lagoon? Just curious.....I know they get a TONS of trout candy bars!

Not really very accurate, unless there are a lot of fish smoking a pack a day for over a decade? well then by all means, snap pic after pic, and hold a giant out of the water for 5 minutes. I always choose to err on the side of caution when handling fish.

that def looks like the same fish. A good rule of thumb to use is everytime you take them out of water properly supported, hold your own breath, when u need air, they need water. Also a properly working livewell is a must, and I personally always carry rejuvenate to put in the livewell water. It really seems to help. Not to bash but I highly doubt it was "natural death" Live and learn. Fish care is extremely important!!!!!
