I wouldn't say skip, more like delay so long it seems like they skipped. Ive seen bass spawn in the fall.

just wondering how to change tails on the slammers. i bought 2 used and one of the tails is starting to rip! its the mini slammer!
rip old worm out, pull metal pin out with needle nose pliers, put new worm in, put metal pin back in. Youll see the pin im talking when you rip out the old worm

Last summer they wouldn't tough it at night for me, but killed a slammer. Some guys have had different experiences but I feel like its very hard for a fish to track a punker when its pitch black
Yeah I don't like to fish baits that move side to side like punkers or glides because I get more misses. I was fishing a punker at night and could hear probably 10-20 bass miss my bait completely

I'm from La also. Baits that work for me are topwater baits that make a lot of noise like rats that clack and punkers with rattles. Subsurface gills and shad have also worked well for me

But I'm broke cus I just got laid off and paid the bills. I have baits to trade. I'd prefer a trout colored punker but I really don't care as long as it's 8" wood. I use whatever I think will catch me the biggest bass I can. If that happens to be a senko, then I'll fish a senko.
