  1. Ask Dad to lend you the lawn mower and go actually hustle. If my son does this he's eating powerbait for lunch. Also, kid is still totally anonymous and learning a VERY mild lesson by being called out on the Internet. I think you're doing the right thing by bringing it up, even though with this level of entitlement it may actually be the most traumatic thing he experiences.
  2. This is dated info, but I lived in SD for 30 years before moving to OR a handful of years ago... I didn't spend a ton of time fishing the Carlsbad area just because it's not really full of spots. The agua hedonia lagoon just north of Lego land was pretty killer for fishing spotted bay bass from float tubes if you have access to that. West side of the 5, where the YMCA has some summer camp. Not much shore access that I recall, but I wasn't looking for it back when I fished it. Other times of the year you can surf fish, but there are going to be big swells rolling through soon. Could still scrape together a surf perch or croaker from some of the nearby beaches though if not too much swell.
  3. Casting, waiting a full minute, then starting a retrieve of any sort with another brief pause after a few handle turns is usually my go to.
  4. I'll trade you a slightly used ABC express. You need a matching set.
  5. I had the same explosion throwing a hudd on mine and never looked back. Didn't realize the warranty at the time. I'd consider another one after reading everyone's thoughts on the new style.
  6. I get 22mph with a 40 on the same boat. I can try to figure out the prop when I get back to town this week,pm me if you're interested in that info. I'm guessing it's the standard prop (mines an older 40hp efi) but I don't know for sure since I'm second owner. Great boat for sure! I fish 3 capable fishermen just fine on it and have had my prior one a few miles off the coast in so cal painting the carpet with yellowtail blood... These boats are workhorses.
  7. https://m.facebook.com/FresnoPoliceDepartment/posts/d41d8cd9/576923521132853/ I don't use Facebook, but I wonder if commenting on this idiots response to the Fresno PD on their FB 3 months ago from a bunch of guys on here, especially those who were burned, would get enough attention from their PR person to get this idiot sweating.
  8. You guys worrying about how much dudes buy and sell baits for must lose your minds seeing the women some dudes settle for. Y'all chiming in on that, too? FFS, just move on if you don't like it. Or message Mike, because those plastic baits don't cost him $125 to pour. In the end, we are all the problem, because we are the market. Be happy we have so many options instead of complaining about the ones you're not participating in.
  9. I've used an egg sinker that i weighed to match the difference between a SK and a SS... Hammered flat, trimmed a little to cut weight, and it fit perfectly in the front weight slot. Pretty simple and it works, just a little more tedious to tweak the weight compared to putty.
  10. That's pretty unfortunate, good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Would a riser jack tail fit in the armajoint? They look similar and may be worth a shot if you are stuck with the Shimano bait. I can also imagine a fella could buy an armajoint off Amazon, mold the tail, and then return the bait within 30 days for free, if they are plastisol. https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-ARMAJOINT-190SF-Flash-Boost/dp/B0BG2RP44L/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=1INM88QCIZKOH&keywords=shimano+armajoint&qid=1675738901&sprefix=shimano+arma%2Caps%2C382&sr=8-2
  11. When you consider this bait isn't even a square foot in surface area, it's pretty damn impressive that it costs more than the average new home per square foot. Mickey in full send mode. Get your money dude... Just won't be mine.
  12. Good guy to work with, don't hesitate to make a trade with Keith.
  13. You could get a few, very quality rods that excel at throwing different style or size of baits for the cost of one of those. Tough sell for me, I'd rather get a few from someone proven who offers a lineup of rods (LDC, for example).
  14. $150 tyd OBO, PayPal F&F or add fees. Trying to defray the costs of my blacktail mount haha. Like new, maybe a hook point but looks pretty mint.
