illude baits Rad Rat, has a sweet flow to it, i posted a video on my instagram a while back of it continuing to waggle after i stopped my retrieve….its super light weight, but the guy knows how to make a bait swim

most of these i just recently acquired, but ive tested them all and the 3 piece traprat has the best knocking sound, the morning wood has the best waggle, but the CL8 is my favorite IMO. caught alot of fish with it day and night but the trap rat is close behind it.

im guessing youre talking about the black and gold trap rat? Definitely one of my favorites!

pretty much perfect ^ opportunistic fish….i cant agree more. they cant pass it up when presented right…. but one of my favorite things about rat fishing is that a rat can end up in the water a million ways……whether the rains pushed him in, he fell from a tree, or mr hawk didnt have a tight grip while flying over the lake. Not sure why that intrigues me so much but the big topwater explosions might have something to do with it.

Oh baby my kinda conversation….. I dont have a preference of 2 or 3 piece but more joints means more knocking and i do like a noisey rat. I also LISTEN to my rats at the joint to see what kind of sounds im getting. Sometimes just a knocking sound, sometimes you actually get a squeak from some baits with a through pin joint. An example of this is a CL8 possom. the bait actually squeaks as it wakes back and fourth and its deadly. Now as far as looking like snakes, i think thats a bit of a stretch…. bass key in on certain prey at different times of the year and usually when im throwing a rat on the surface…. a snake wouldnt touch the water because they cant risk losing the heat (i like to throw rat when the air is cold but the water is still warm). Now with that said, throwing a rat bait at night is a different story, the bass most likely didnt know what he was hitting and just couldnt pass up the opportunity. Also id like to add that trapbassbaits is a great company. ive thrown several of his baits and love his 3 piece rat! here are my rats BTW…….. hope this helps
