Body shape looks great. I would def mold it and play with things. Can make a wedge and paddle tail from same body. Good looking start tho.

I would get more arch in the side of tail so it grabs water. With it being the shape it is it might not kick much. I did one years ago with with a similar shape but more arch and it pulled straight through water. No kick. It might work great. Might not. I would def mold it as is and pour resin blanks so you can mess with tail shape until you get action you’re looking for. It will also allow you to do one with scales and one without or any other changes you might want to make

I use 1 1/2 or 2 inch stainless steel finishing nails depending on size of bait. Just cut to desired length. Some use carbon fiber pins and others use steel rod that they cut. All will work.

Back at it and trying to get the gill all dialed in. Just finished up this guy and a 3 piece yesterday. Swim is great on the glide and swimmer. Got some blanks I’m working on for masters. And 2 new toys!

I’m so bad. Totally meant as a tester. Instead I tune it, paint it and ready for clear. I gotta stop making myself toys and get back to work……. Haha IMG_5312.MOV

I use alumilite. Some people don’t like it or talk smack about it but I’ve never had any issues. Always done the job.

Prototype glide #1. Molded and poured first blank. Made a glide to start testing with resin mix and weight. First one is super slow sink, great swim. Will try to get vid in the next few days. Next will be a 3 piece and than a lipped wake as I figure out the balance.

Shaping master is coming along. I’m slow. Got the fins pretty much done. With the exception on chipping top one when cutting groves. Uuuuggghh. But simple fix for that. Just need to finish head section and clean her up. Hopefully be able to mold it soon and pour some prototype glides and swimmers. Thanks for looking SU! IMG_5293.MOV

So quickly painted her up and took her out to fish for a few. Phew, glad I scratched that itch and can now focus on finishing the carving. Hahaha The blank kept saying let’s go fish, let’s go fish. I couldn’t say no…….
