Maybe post up some info on what type of lures you're wanting to make. Yellow and red cedar, poplar, balsa and basswood are all common woods in baitmaking. Guys use PVC trim board as well.

Do yourself a favor and weigh the bait at each step from this point. Then in the future you'll have an idea how much weight primer, foil, paint and clear will add to the total weight of the bait. For me when I make a new bait, I know that on an 2 piece, 4.5 oz resin bait for example, each half of the bait will gain 2.5-3 grams of weight from primer, paint and clear. This is impotant for glides and freestyles so you don't wind up with a bottom rocket in the end. Baits looking good, keep it up!
