  1. Castaic lagoon has plenty of shore fishing areas.
  2. Ha. You've lost your mind. You've got the huddy disease. It's extremely contagious. I've got it too. Good luck
  3. Outcast Fat Cat for sure! Awesome float tubes
  4. 8 inch trout. Rainbow, holdover, shasta. Rof 5 and 12. Butch Brown rigged or stock hook.
  5. Mattlures ultimate TW baby gill boot tail
  6. Picasso smart mouth jig heads. I was having sa me problem till Matt Newman told me about these
  7. Check out the curado 300 dsv. That's the one I'm throwing on my okuma H for glides or hard baits with trebles.
  8. Thought 957 loomis was 4 to 10 ounces?
  9. I'm sure many different ways of rigging will work. I do it Butch Browns way cuz I'd say he knows his stuff. He's only caught more bass over 10 lbs then anyone in the world. Vmc 1 hooks. There thin and are stealth. He paints them too . I believe he uses same hook for 6 in hudds too but I'm sure 2s would work. Matt Newman fishes the stock hooks. There already painted and strong and sharp. He rarely looses fish and I'd say he knows his stuff as well.
  10. Headed up to June lake loop in October. Wondering if anyone has thrown lg swimbaits for giant rainbows or browns?
  11. Yellowtail man. These fish are not bass. You need power to bring these babies in. A reel with torque. If you get bit by a 40 lb yellowtail say bye bye. They will get in kelp or rock and break you off so fast. Not saying it can't be done but get a ocean setup. 40 lb mono or 65 lb braid to 50 lb floro kelp cutter. Little once you should be ok but why take the chance of breaking off a 40 to 50 lb yellow
  12. Any guys out there throwing hudd deluxe on the dobyns 867? Your options guys please. Too much rod for this bait or does it load nice?
  13. Bbz has a rattle. Deps 250 is big. Hudd68 has thump good water displacement. Just gotta get out there and try different things. It's all about confidence while your fishing. Every turn of the reel picture a huge bass following your bait. Time on the water. Good pics guys good luck out there
  14. Sure hudds can work year around but excel in colder months. Glides when it gets warmer. And no glide baits are not big jerk baits. Butch Brown has put many hours in with hudds in summer with very little success. So I would stick with glide baits in warmer months
  15. Hudds have proven themselves time and again. Bar none best swimbait on the market and not over priced. Take a look at Butch Browns videos. You can rig it Butch Browns way or just fish the stok hooks. They are strong sharp and painted to blend into the back of the bait. Matt Newman fishes the stock hooks with little issues of losing fish. Hudds excel from early November to the end of April. Amazing bait
  16. Floro 20 lb seaguar all are good for hudds and 40 to 50 lb power pro braid for 6 to 8 in glides. 65 lb braid or 25 lb floro for hinkle or deps 250. At the end of the day it all what you prefer. It's about confidence. Confidence is what gets bit.
  17. Hey that's what it's all about kid. Why eat a fry when you can have a double ducky
  18. So which rod I'd ideal for 8 inch huddleston deluxe? Okuma H or XH? Or other rods you guys prefer? Which yes I know there are better ones then okuma. Thanks
  19. The H works great. Your using swimbaits with trebles so the H is good. Hudds maybe consider XH but the H will work. I have the H and I love it
  20. Very true what Craig says. But sometimes thinking out of the box works great. Summer time clear water middle of day. Deadsticking ac plugs or others similar top water or shallow diving trout imitations can trigger massive strikes. But hey that's part of the game. What works one day may not work the next.
  21. That pretty much sums it up. Driven for the feel of that next hookset. Could it be that monster you've been working so hard for? Addiction, passion, lifestyle? Well I'd say all of the above. Something that you just can't explain to someone that has never experienced it. Now let's go rip on some lips.
