  1. I got it it for mostly bass but as well as any big bait species would like to try it in the salt. I'm really also interested in trying these massive baits for trolling for gaint bulltrout and lake trout as well as any other monster trout that wants to take a swing at it. I fish from the bank so I think its going to be awhile before can start trolling these big baits. I dont have any high end monster bass rods to compare to the Promag but for to 230 bucks plus 50 dollar handle extension. I thought it was a god price to get into those mega baits.
  2. I will post pics of it tonight when I get home next to the 908. It really paid off to get the handle exsted. The rod actual length is like 8"3 or 8"4' For the reel i have a Komodo ss 463. The rod i have no doubts of it casting 30 ozs dont have any baits right now that weigh more then the 16inch Savage gear. But would like to do that gaint A rig that the guy with the world record Japan has some day the one with the drt clones on it.
  3. I have the musky innovation pro mag heavy rod rated 8 to 40 oz lures. I had the handle extended by 10 inches it sits at 9foot 4 inches. It easily handles the 16inch line thru. I bet it could easily cast 30oz baits. Didn't know Savage gear is coming out with a 19inch super stoke about that. The rods a beef cake tho it has a bit of tip but I feel like the rod needs a 15oz bait before the rod loads up to send it. I have a 908 I feel like it maxes out around the 16to18 oz I change my mind about the 20 oz rating. Makes easy work of the 7to15 oz baits.
  4. The ospery dinks are lil alphas tho but I really need the line thru option.
  5. There out of stock on the skt and I own some bv3d already. I was hoping they would restock them this summer but there's been no bait drops on tacklewarehouse this year for the soft plastics.
  6. still looking for some smaller rago baits. Brown trout season is going to be picking up here for me as the Temps keep getting colder.
  7. Personally I think we should also have a standard for scales. Like a Brickell or some other scale that are certifiable. Because there some guys on the water that say the most craziest chip sometimes. Ran into a Guy on the water who fishing a online tournament and was claiming he caught a 10 pound on a 15 inch frame. As well as a 22lb bass on a 22inch frame. I live in idaho I dont know what he was smoking. Guy fishing i was fishing with told him thats why he only does bump board tournaments too many people with inaccurate scales.
  8. Its not really rolling over its just super dead action like the paddle tail can't start kicking and rolling. I did boiled it to see that helps but if that doesn't work might try making a different tail design see if that helps.
  9. I bought a 14 inch ospery and was greatly disappointed thing doesn't swim worth a carp. Was thinking of exchanging for a 12inch ospery but are those any better?
  10. I wanted one been looking at the spec 440. There stage 0 thru 3 I dont understand what there saying but in the pics it seems Pitch and awe at different angles. 0 being completely horizontal. also I dont know what the difference is between the pa vs the de? Like is one a floater vs a slow sink. Because I saw some that float and others seem to be more of a slow sink type.
  11. I saw a episode of informative fisherman talking about it. I'm sure it will work since Glide bait are just giant jerkbaits for the most part. My friend was cranking down a ms slammer just to see what would happen. Had a 30 pound king salmon hot on it but just wouldn't commit. Still pretty cool to see.
  12. Looking for line thru lil alpha trouts and 6 inch skt paddle tails.
  13. Im sure, I'm into cranking down rats and I remember them saying there were Crankdown right of the box. Really cool to see some trout on it.
  14. Dude he'll yeah that's awsome. I'm guessing is was the spro rat 25 size? I've been wanting to get one to throw for trout.
  15. Thanks for the info makes alot of sense now since I don't have Facebook I follow him on Instagram but it's not really ever active. I was getting frustrated seeing real prey bait that I've never seen before. Thought it was a friends and family type of thing. Because I could never find them online.
  16. Where do you find these one off real prey baits? I've seen those 4 inch pink paddles tails you pick up from real prey. But On the website all I've ever seen is the same baits he's an been offering for years.
  17. My fishing partner caught one waking early in the spring it was a 18 inch stocker. Blow up on it like a bass too he even thought he got one too.
  18. Here's some pics caught the first on a 9 inch MS slammer and the second fish on the rago cranking rat.
  19. Magdraft and cranking down a slammer are good choices for trout. My friend has also caught a couple on the triple trout. Glide baits work great and would definitely start there. I highly recommend the magdraft any size I've caught them on the 10 inch the 8 inch and the 6inch. Not sure what it is with the mag draft but it gets crushed out of all the paddle tails Ive use for trout it's my number one.
  20. I just want to highlight the latest endeavor. Forgot to put my boots on for quick fishing session. Just stuck some old jogger shoe on. Was getting ready to leave and I walk over to the last spot freaking slip land, on top of everything landed on top of my reel felt really great going into the side of my gut plus It was good day to wear white. Especially when you unintentionally try to make mud angels. I can't wait till I be a proud boat owner just to find out what growing pains come with the territory. Looks like I'm going to I need a new reel handle.
