  1. 8" ROF 5's, 12's, and 16's for 30ft or deeper. Top hook.
  2. http://swimbaitunderground.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35153-best-rod-for-mother/?hl=%2Bbest+%2Bmother
  3. I think the S-Waver is a must have bait, it was my first glide bait and the lure that made me a believer in glide baits. The S-Waver is still one of my go to baits, it catches fish.
  4. Since it's favorite baits and not most productive baits, frogs, spooks and buzz baits. I will throw topwater even when I know it might not be the most productive bait.
  5. At least we'll get to see some cool repaints soon.
  6. His vid was on 13 fishings new line of rods, but thanks any way. I'm going with a Palehorse rod for my big stuff, the guy was a quick response and low wait time like you said. I was thinking when I get the new rod I would move my curado 300 on to it. But now I'm thinking i will just spend the money and put a Beast on it.
  7. This has come up at the perfect time for me, I'm having a Palehorse rod being built for a Mother right now and was wondering the same thing. I'm leaning strongly towards a Revo Toro Beast.
  8. I'm interested in hearing some member opinions on these reels.
  9. Goof Off or Easy Off oven cleaner might be worth a try. I don't know what the active ingredient in Goof Off is, Easy Off is a lower dose Jasco paint remover and may melt the plastic, I've used it to remove lettering off of work trucks . Easy off will remove the lettering and leave the factory paint alone, for the most part. Goof Off might be a safer choice. I'm a plumber and Goof Off has saved butt more than once.
  10. I'm going to go with Pale horse, he was easy to contact and fast with replies. I see your in Clovis, I was practically raised on Pine Flat, haven't fished it for 15 yrs or more though.
  11. I've been bass fishing over 35 yrs, but I'm new to SU. I had no idea there are guys that do this kind of work, those 250's are awesome. I need to find find these guys and get some baits done!
  12. Thanks for the input guys, I will be looking into Performance Tackle and Palehorse see what they have to say.
  13. Thanks guys, This helps a lot, also what I wanted to hear. LCD it is.
  14. I'm sure it's been talked about countless times in these threads. In doing searches here I'm not finding it. At the risk of getting barked at for asking a noob question, here goes. What is the best rod for a RM Mother? 908? Phoenix? Something from LDC? I'm not looking for a versatile rod, but something solely for a Mother.

    I'm an Idiot

I watched your You Tube vid on converting them, if your advice is not to convert, I will take that advice. Thanks.

    I'm an Idiot

Thanks for your replies. With time on the water being finite, I like to think I'm fishing the right lure at the right time and place the right way with confidence.
  17. Thinking I was ordering a Slide swimmer I ordered a Deps 250 Silent Killer instead.Told you I'm an idiot. From ebay, japan, not going to try to return it, my fault. My question to you guys is, is the silent killer pretty much worthless and I should take a crack at converting it, or just leave it a silent killer? Has anyone caught anything on one?
  18. I use some mono backing to avoid braid slipping on the spool. Flukemaster recently put out a vid on this, I don't think it was about line slippage, but about saving money on braid.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL63US5uO_Y The first time I had braid slippage it threw me for awhile.
  19. You turned me on SU, good luck with the channel.
  20. I just buy the baits I want, worry about the bills later.
  21. I'm brand new to SU, sure wish I was aware of it years ago. bigpoppabas is right, the 262 is no Deps 250. Got my 262 this spring, thought I got a bad one and just set it down. Evidently it's not a slow crank glide bait at least mine isn't. I will break it out again and see what I can do with it.
