  1. Gonna throw some stuff into the mix most of you probably haven't heard of... Synth pop, indie, electro punk, and some alt rock. Grimes, Purity Ring, Crystal Castles, and Gorillaz is my ish. Anybody else? No? Didn't think so...
  2. I found tthis video, and plan to do my leaders as shown. Not sure if it will make a difference than a normal one. Ill probably end up experimenting with all 3 options.
  3. every minnesota lake has pike basically so I'm gonna be using heavy duty flouro leaders
  4. that's the plan at this point. putting together shopping list for black friday (assuming things will be on sale) and after christmas.
  5. Id listen to these guys, but if you do want to go the cheap route, check out the diawa millionare.
  6. putting together a basic swimbait arsenal, and want to know if you guys have preference for one? I like the shine glide because the 7 inch is almost half the price of a 200 size s waver, and I like the golden shiner pattern (MN fisherman so main forage is shiners, perch, and gills) since I'll already have a hudd in perch, but I hear a lot of good things about the s waver. What do you guys think?
  7. I'm planning out what baits to buy over the winter to get me setup for next season, and want to know what you guys have had success with skipping under docks.
  8. Anybody had any luck with big baits on table rock? I'm fishing there next Saturday and would appreciate any advice.
  9. Would you be willing to do 75 without the rat?
  10. if it falls through, would you do 75 without the rat? I already got one.
  11. Soft lures aren't the best option for me. Lots of big toothy critters in these Minnesota lakes
  12. I'm looking at getting the Black Dog Baits Shell Cracker G2 but wanted to know if there was something better in the same price range.
  13. Me and my friend are fishing on the river for pike, cats, and smallies near our houses, about a mile down the road. Recently, someone had put up a "no trespassing" on a tree. We had been going to this spot for about a year now and didn't plan on stopping now. It didn't make much sense for it to be private either, the river was less than 50 feet from the road, there are no houses on that land or across the road. It was just a bit past sun down when a car pulls up. Either we were about to get cussed of their land or someone else was looking for some kitty cats. I started packing up when I saw 2 dudes walking down without rods because I knew what was coming. Turns out they were just checking out the place to see if the could launch their kayaks easily the next morning. I told them that it'd be pretty easy but to watch out for the drop off, that i had parked my boat there to pee before, and about the fishing on the river, as well as showing off a photo of a nice cat i had caught about a week prior. As we're talking, 2 cars come ripping off the road and into a mud trail that was completely swamped from recent flooding, and i mean tearing off the road going at least 30 mph into pure mud. How these guys didn't get stuck is beyond me, but they turned around and did it once more, coming from the other direction. Not sure what on earth these guys were doing but i was just glad that we could finish our fishing without being kicked out.
  14. can't go wrong with bucktails
  15. There's a company called Lucky Bug that mainly makes flies and lake trout trolling plugs. They make a swimbait called the Zombie Max. Not sure if they're if the company was trying to sell to a different audience on this one or if it's another laker lure. My friend got it in a mystery tackle box and even though it may not have the most realistic paint job, it swims like a beauty.
  16. i still find it crazy that some fisherman are disappointed when they hook into these beasts. I'd even pick a northern that size over a muskie that size any day.
  17. Are these custom? I haven't seen them before. Either way, they're sick
  18. I'm new here and wanted to know if anybody on here uses muskie baits for big bass or caught muskie using swim baits. Also, do people on here care about muskie or northern pike, or is it strictly bass around here?
  19. I've tried to define swim baits myself many times and have started to consider any jointed lure or tail kicking soft plastic as a swim bait.
