  1. Got the bait, but haven’t taken it out yet. Hopefully will get out a couple times this weekend!
  2. My confidence bait from the start has been the jackall ganteral, and the 316 rising son, both the weedless and bottom hook line thru. Makes up 80% of what I throw here in Minnesota.
  3. Looking for the normal stock lips. I knew I’d lose mine and I did. PM me with what you have available. Thanks!
  4. I’m going to the bass Master Classic this weekend and thought it would be cool to do a little meetup for forum members? If you’re gonna be there, let me know this is something you’d be interested in and we’ll set this up!
  5. one of the first baits i bought was a dying bluegill in a lot on the BM. Never found a time where i really thought it'd excel. Not sure mine runs straight either.
  6. You could try a weedless hudd 68. might run into the same problem, but maybe not because of the more subtle action.
  7. This might be a slightly unpopular opinion, but if you're catching em on a 250, which is already a very big lure, why are you worrying so much about the next step up? Just keep doing whats working with what you've got.
  8. What of these rods would be best for hudd 68s and weedless baits?
  9. My first fish came on a weedless rising son on my first trip out with only swimbaits, but I didn't have a 5 (very big for MN) on the scale until a year later.
  10. The dobyns fury rods are known for being better for treble hook baits. I personally cannot stand mono for this reason so I usually use braid. Try using flouro instead of mono, or braid to a leader.
  11. Is there anyway to know when wcz is gonna drop baits besides his Instagram?
  12. Like the title says, looking for a good deal on a preferably low-float hardgill in the male or female colors. May be interested in the strong gills too if you can give a good deal. Would consider a normal floater on either size. Would also consider purchasing one of each if the price is right. PM me or text 612-709-8929 with what you have available. Lets make something happen. Thanks!
  13. Thats true but I still like to imagine these old swimbaits caught some monsters.
  14. I love threads like this for 2 reasons: 1. Shows how people really approach trophy bass fishing (never thought I'd see livebait being suggested on this site) 2. Keeps me wanting updates. I'd love for this guy to catch this fish!
  15. I have a vengeance, and would say it's much too light, especially for the livetarget. A frog rod might work temporarily, but investing in a dobyns fury 795 would be a great option for these baits, and even some slightly larger baits. If there's one thing I learned is once you start catching fish, you're gonna wanna get bigger and bigger baits.
  16. Isn't that one crazy? Not a swimbait, but couldn't leave it out.
  17. Stopped to checkout the freshwater fishing hall of fame on my out of Hayward wisconsin today, and I though you guys would enjoy some of the old antique muskie swimbaits. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
  18. how can I get notified when he releases baits?
  19. I've heard they weren't very high quality, and the paint on my friend's rat, the eyes weren't lined up at all.
  20. The biggest bait i throw with my 300 is an swaver 200, and it seems fine. I need to upgrade my rod a bit tho. Its a good reel.
  21. I've heard people wrap the hooks will soldering wire. never tried but it seems cheaper than strips and easy to use
  22. I'll be headed to fort lauderdale next week for spring break, and am looking for tips on where to bass fish. I'd love to catch some peacocks, but from what I can tell they're not big on swimbaits so I'd love to get into some largies too. Also, going to try surf fishing so if anyone has tips for a complete novice, that would be awesome. Thanks guys!
