I guess I didn't ask my question clearly enough. Im wanting peoples thoughts on specifically the XXH rod. I did use the search and saw other posts about the DX. Nothing about the XXH. That's why I made a new post to address the specific rod.
-
I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to use one of these. What is your impression? Im thinking about getting one in XXH. Thanks!

Looks good! Did you have it mounted on the top of the motor with a suction cup mount?

I went with the XH for my first rod. I agree with the comments above. Im glad I didn't get the H.

What 30 min epoxy are you using? I want a matte finish for my bait. Thanks

Keep up the good work. Looks like its going to be sick!

Thank you both for the input. I'll definitely post pics through the process. I have a really busy schedule so unfortunately I think progress will be slow at first.

I am in the process of planning my first glide bait build. I want to make a 2 segment trout about 9 inches long. The last part of the puzzle (on paper at least) is hinge design. I keep going back and forth between a Deps 250 style hinge, or a Roman Made style hinge. Never making one I can only speculate which will be better. I am thinking the Deps style will be better for tuning purposes. Im thinking I will be able to remove a pin running vertically through the front section of the bait, and then adjust the eyes on the second part in or out. This is how I assume I will be able to partially tune the action of the body while swimming. If I go with the Roman Made style I think it will be more difficult to set the final gap between the 2 body segments. The only way I can see attaching the two eyelets to each other is linking them outside of the wood. Then I would have to epoxy them into the wood for them to stay. This would make it impossible to adjust after installation. Do you all have experience with these two styles? Have any preference? Thanks!

Thanks for your input guys! I drove around yesterday and got both reels in my hands. I liked the feel of both, but I decided to go with the Luna based on it being a better out of the box reel. I can tinker with it as my swimbait skills improve.
