1Interestes in trades as well as sells if you are interested. Most have some sort of cosmetic issue since I was in a hurry to finish these for the fall bite

Sick! That's a hell of glide on that monster man
-
Scratch that on the tiny cranks. I'm going to make some adjustments before I let any go. Trout still available
-
These are from the crank downs pt.2 post The smaller ones are around 5" 1oz Run subsurface to maybe 2ft down at the most The bigger trout is 7" 3oz Comes with 2 tails. The one that's on it and another smaller one that will take all the wobble/roll out of it Crankdown around 3ft. Maybe more but I'm honestly a horrible judge of that $100 tyd for the 7" $50 a piece for the tiny cranks

I use automotive clear as well. I keep a few cand on hand and once I have 10 baits ready is when I spray. I avoid epoxy and anything that has to be dipped with jointed baits because of the extra work that goes into keeping the joints clean. I agree with dan on wanting my baits ready to fish out of the box

I'm really not sure, I've never seen them swim in clear enough water to know what happens once they get more then a foot or so down. Ths way they are weighted tho they should level put fairly well
-
Thank you! That's what I go for. I put alot of effort into avoiding others style.
-
Thank you!

Thank you sir! I was extremely happy with how well the paint on that one came out.

Iwata hp-CS and as many golden colors as I can. They spray great right out of the bottle. I spray alot of createx since they are easy to find but I'm not a fan of having to use a different thinner/additive for every color they make. I try to avoid them because of it

Always clean work coming from yall! Awesome to see it produce so quick!
-
This came out super clean! Great work bro
-
2 more done today
-
Finished the rest of this batch off. I believe I can take a break from crank downs for a while now
-
I use stainless tig welding rods
-
I draw them out on graph paper. Nothing special
-
Trout patterns are one of my favorites to paint. Carving the faces is another story tho
-
Your definitely on the right track man, looks great so far! Also if you dont mind carving denser wood I wouldn't worry about using basswood. It's not very forgiving and if you decide to use a rotary tool it's easy to take more material then you mean too
-
Cedar is alot more buoyant and not nearly as forgiving when carving or setting in screw eyes. Poplar seems easier to weight but that could just be because I use it alot more and I'm used to it

Rattlecan automotive clear has been my goto for a while now
