Hello, I'm a High School student who has used a majority of this school year to create a project based around the issues involving Fish Farming. I thought this forum would be a great place to look for feedback and to reach out to a community of individuals who I think is pretty safe to say eat seafood. I have designed a "suspended collections system" which is an attachment under the cage that is used to collect the waste that falls through the bottom of the cage. You can check out my design at https://filteredfarming.weebly.com/. Eutrophication and Dead Zones under these aquaculture cages are a growing problem that is detrimental to the surrounding ecosystem. It can create holes of oxygen uninhabitable for native fish life. Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing industries in modern day. And not only does it affect the sustainability of the industry but it affects the quality of your fishing. Just to clarify this is not for any financial gain or personal benefit, this is just a school project. Any feedback and interaction would be greatly appreciated if you could please fill out a brief survey and visit my website that would be a big help. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSextaj23EiBo3ozCqVXToPmW6qNSMB3XJeCJf8W4ZvItTPzOA/viewform?usp=sf_link

the spro mcstick 110 has done really well for trout for me that's about all I use at this point for trout when I'm fishing artificials

the bubbles are just a result of that guy taking the bait out of the clear coat too soon that's it. User error. You kind of have to let it soak a bit
-
Really exited to have tuned and finished this bait lmk your thoughts critiques etc. Took upwards of 150 hours to make. Screwed around and put a crackle back on it too not sure how j feel about that yet

Young guy that needs advice on painting on detailed carving!

Basswood is also the easiest to carve by a long shot but its one of the most expensive too -

dont worry about the screw eyes if you can get a hand drill and some stainless steel wire to make your eyes it will be cheaper in the long run. Also if you're gonna get a carving specific knife #2 blade are hell of a lot easier to work with instead of #11 -
its such a giant bait you're probably better off going with the bottom hook anyways, when you watch fish swipe at bigger glide baits they almost always hit it from the bottom, also the bottom hook roman made is what they use exclusively in the roman made finder volumes

JSJ BAIT HITCH SIX RECOIL SOFT WEEDLESS SWIMBAIT - Help needed
fishhct replied to NORTHERN_GLIDER's topic in The Underground
The hitch 6 does have very minimal action but my friend got a bass to commit to one that rivals our state record, so I would throw it if I were you. Bait catches absolutely giant bass, it never did numbers for me even in its small size but that thing gets huge bass to commit and I'm not sure why -
These should be up for sale in a week or two

I used the white to highlight mistakes in the carving and went back and fixed them that's really helpful for anyone who hasn't tried that before

Decided to make what will hopefully be a very stable smooth glide bait as compared to my other jerkbait style glidebaits I've made. Curious as to your opinions or critiques. Always interested in ways to improve baits. Thinking of doing a door hinge joint and a soft tail of course. Minimal joint movement as well in hopes for a very wide glide. Gonna be 8.5"
-
have you thought about making a soft bait with that profile? I could see that doing well as a heavy boot tail bait
-
one thing that could be a cool addition if you added a frog hook to the back that is secured with magnets, therefore, it won't get tangled up with the tail, as long as the hookup ratio is good that looks like a really fun bait to fish
-
there is room left in the carving for improvement but the overall profile and design are really impressive.
-
thats a really good profile for a smaller glide. Should be a lot smoother compared to other small glides if you mess around with the joint spacing. Nice work
-
have you thought about making a double hook version. Might increase you hookup and decrease overall hook profile
