let me amend this. after dealing with 13 fishing warranty dept on a few issues, go with shimano. There warranty dept is top notch, you wont have to hold there hand and still get the incorrect item.

I have reels from both shimano and 13 fishing. It is really had to beat shimano they always make a great reel. The 13 fishing concept A reel I has is very nice. I was very impressed with the reel. Its smooth, cast nice, feels good in my hand and to be honest I have thought about purchasing another reel from them, the A3. However its hard for me to stray from shimano, and if I am being honest it really has to do with the customer service reel repair warehouse being 3 miles from my house. But I did have to interact with 13 fishing for a rod I broke, and they were 5 stars. swapped the rod and shipped it seamlessly. Both are good choices, I guess that's a good problem to have.

I have the Xh and just went through this as I'm new to all this. I went with the xh because I felt a little better, (stiffer, more stout) to me. I have no issues throwing the 68 special or 6" Huddleston. I throw mainly the bigger hudds ROF 5 and 12 it does that with ease. I also have and throw 10" triple Trout, some 8" glides baits and punker. My buddy has the H and used my XH and really liked how it felt.

any idea when they are to come out?? I loved my Tranx for fishing offshore this season for large Bluefin, will be interested to see how the changes they made while downsizing the reel effects it. Looks of the reel are rad.

I had this issue with a Hudd from there as well. I know its super frustrating but the guys there are always cool about making the situation right and swapped it out. I guess my question is why didn't you just test it out there at the shop, they have plenty of live bait tanks to dunk it in.
