  1. Ended up with an extra trout. Looking to trade for another reg in a different color, open to all Pats trades. Really looking for a mini gill/full gill, if you got one to trade I can add cash, Toxics or 3:16s, in addition to the trout.
  2. It is a shine glide, I didn’t do it myself though. Got it a few years back from bass pro, maybe the pattern changed.

Yea man crazy it was an 18 acre pond, never would've thought she was lurking in there.

I've been fishing this small pond on my lunch breaks and after work for the past 3 years. Never had much luck size wise, biggest has prob been around 2lbs, but the numbers were good though. Have been stopping once or twice a week all summer, but not really girding that spot as other spots nearby are far better size producers. I know there's a few underwater rock ledges that run out about 30 feet then turn down the shoreline, the bottom of the ledge drops down to about 10 feet. I try to cast where the ledge turns parallel down the shore and retrieve back right outside of the drop off. Threw a 9" dark trout slammer, retrieved at a medium speed and got crushed. She went 7.3#'s and 23.5"'s! Still fired up (Solo pics can be tough!)
  9. Agreed with what others have said, most places hold good fish. I fish all the same spots I used to fish senkos and what not at, and would occasionally catch a big one, now its much more frequent with swimbaits. Don't count out those local small ponds either, for instance last night caught a 5.6 out of a, at most, 5 acre puddle on a slammer.
  10. IMO, grab a slammer and a hudd 68 and you're good to go, i'm in MA too and the slammer has been producing since March. Can get both for under 80. Like others said an swaver or hardgill/bullgill would be good choices too.
  11. Thanks man! Did some searches but somehow didn't find those....
  12. As the topic states i'm looking to get my first 250. I was wondering besides material what the difference between an OG and a new style is? I see alot of guys prefer the OG over the new style, but not sure why. What would be my best choice, spending a little more for an og or getting a new style? Thank guys!
  13. Agree on the 9" slammer, I have a few 7's and I really only fish my 9". My 9 will crank down a few feet no prob, though i dont usually fish it that way. Just a nice slow retrieve seems to be the ticket for me. Purple nitro has gotten bit for me mid day and middle of the night, but color doesnt matter that much.
  14. Got my woodtail in the mail today, pumped to go fish it later!
  15. I've been using 20lb CXX for baits up to 4ish oz's, have had no issues, I also like 65 braid for some applications mainly topwater, easier to work some baits imo, thoughhhh you can really drive a top hook bait home with braid haha...
  16. They do sell extra spools, just not in the trick shop yet, the deep spool in the trick shop won't fit. I forget the part number, but you can email them and they'll get you one. Think it was like 35$'s, something like that.
  17. Just finished my first order with Chad. Great guy to deal with, fast shipping and the baits look great! Got a bass and striped gill pattern, but to my surprise he also threw in a golden shad and some of the 3 inch baits! I love when companies do that, great for business in my opinion. Now hopefully they work as good as they look.
  18. I'm right hand dominant, I cast with my right, switch rod to left hand and reel with right. Buttt that's how i've always fished so it feels normal. Though i'm super ambidextrous, I write with right hand use fork in left hand, bat lefty throw righty etc...that may have something to do with it...
  19. Thanks Wayne! I'll head the advice and go with a 175 for now. Get a heavier rod down the road, those LDCs look real nice.
  20. Yeaaa I figured no way would I be throwing 8oz's on that thing hahah....
  21. Yea I was kind of thinking the same thing, the hudd seems about the max i'd feel comfortable with...but i'm also not used to slinging big baits, so everything feels somewhat heavy haha....
  22. Hey guys, sooo I picked up a Dobyns Champ 796SB during the TW Christmas sale. Ideally would've liked to gotten the 807 to really give me a good range of weights. Butttt they didn't have and couldn't resist the 796 for 189. So far the rod has worked great for everything I throw, the biggest has been an 8" hudd, which it seems to throw ok. That brings me to my questions, i've been looking into getting a slide swimmer, originally was looking at the 175 but after reading alot of reviews and opinions, seems like alot prefer the action of the 250 over the 175 no matter your location in the country. How do you guys think the 796 will handle a 250? No prob, ehh soo soo, or dont do it haha.... Thanks in advance guys!
  23. I didn't get one when I PP'd Friday, but got the bait in MA Monday, if that helps.
  24. I just worked with Scott on a custom pattern recently, it is my first TT. I must say he was a pleasure to deal with, fast responses via email, and the bait came out exactly as I wanted. He actually put a few up this batch, the bone with black head!
