  1. The Fury 806 isn't what I would consider weedless stiff, it's still a treble rod I think.
  2. In all honesty I feel comfortable throwing half that weight. I can't imagine throwing any more than my Wade Hoggs (4oz) with that rod. I picked up the Fury 806 as my first swimbait rod at the Classic as Spro was handing out 8in BBZ-1s in SS and I thought it was finally time to get one. Weighed on food scale a 1oz tungsten and the BBZ weighed in at 5.8oz and messing around with it I feel the rod can handle 6oz with 2-4 being the sweet spot of the rod. I do cast this upper end of the range like Matt Allen suggest throwing heavier swimbaits however.
  3. Look up The Rod Coffin to give yourself a basic idea because the price it's expensive if you buy it. Basically a rod locker on top of your vehicle.
  4. Reels can be cheaper new in Japan than in the US to start off with, but it could also be an older model. While not on ebay, I got a used reel off a Japanese website and it's fine. They usually don't try to hide any cosmetic wear from the customer in my browsing, if anything, they point it out. The biggest catch is maybe the reel isn't smooth, but you can generally get a feel from cosmetics(not saying a pretty outside doesn't mean trashed internals or vice versa) or they have a sentence mentioning it. If you can still acquire parts for the reel(check plat.co.jp if it's a jdm reel) it's not much of a gamble. One thing to keep in mind is having extra to pay import fees, while the chance is low, don't expect to not have to pay them. I think it should be under $50 for a reel.
  5. What size wire do you use?
