  1. Guess I have to buy all of them then. Kinda what it seemed like with this one. Threw a lot of baits last year, even a wild beat and the dead walk with k9 was what peaked the interest. Also what got my pb a month before in a different part of the state.
  2. I tried so many times. Before and after a rain. Coldest days of the season and the hottest and saw the fish a total of 3 times. Ive never held a 10 so take this with a grain of salt but it was so big idk if id be surprised if it was a teener lol. The 250 on the other hand caught me two 6's and a fish that was probably 8 or so that threw it. That thing flashes like crazy for me where I fish. Sun hits it perfectly.
  3. That's gotta be fun in the kayak. Seems like a better bang for the buck compared to others and Im confused why I don't read about it producing for a lot of other people. That thing looks awesome
  4. Been thinking about it but we have a lot of pike where Im at. A 250 is one thing cause they can be found cheaper even though they have that skin but something in that price range made of wood Id be way to scared of. Had a negotiator and pulled several teeth out of it after a pike hit it.
  5. Id take that lol. That's the first fish Ive seen that size on it. Or at least one I heard the weight of.
  6. Read your notes on another thread and that was helpful with this too. Seems like one of those baits that's either so versatile that you have to really mess with I to find what fish like or they only like it in certain areas of the country. Im in the north east too.
  7. Thanks. Never thought of that. Was thinking of the ghost cause of the ability to dead walk it which is what it did when it followed. Hit the same spot a bunch before I knew that fish and have been all around this super small lake and nothing on anything else but some 6 pounders (not that that's a bummer). Thinking I might try gill/crappie stuff and see what happens.
  8. Looking for a bigger bait to target pretty much the biggest fish I know of in my local lake. It has no interest in a 250 but has followed a k9 twice. I know a lot of people like the Hinkle trout but Im not even sure where to get one. That being said a DRT Ghost would be my guess to get a better chance of it eating since it liked the k9. Any ideas on big baits with slow glides and realism that giants like? Why have I never seen anything over 8lbs on a K9? This jumbo big bait thing has me stumped.
  9. @Jbr458 I have the heavy rated 2-6 and I love it. Just not sure how long ill throw those giant baits. I killed them on the 250 last year but Im not sure if a 300$ bait is worth throwing if I'm not sure how they'll react to it or if I can even find a decent rod. Part of why I want to throw the 250 other than not carrying a bunch of rods with me. At least if it throws that I won't have to sell it.
  10. Should probably add that Im bank beating only and not sure about the 9' er. Really like the leviathan but dang 350 just gets me the rod. I still have to spend that on a bait...
  11. First post on here if I remember right so forgive me if its in the wrong place. Im looking for a rod to throw a 250, ghost, and mother on. As of right now I'm not sure that's a good idea or if that's too big of a weight range. Im thinking a Dobyns 908 based on a bunch of research but would like to avoid spending that much. Therefore, Im wondering if the Irod Genesis 3 865 Baileys Mag Swim XH rated 5-12 ounces or any other rod would work for this. If I couldn't throw the mother on the Irod that's fine as long as I could fit the 250 and ghost on it. I had a Levante leviathan from Megabass and it worked great just felt too limiting. If there's nothing in the I rod price range Im open to the Dobyns and Leviathan rods 300$ to 350$ price range if it comes to it. Not sure if the Leviathan would work for the 250-mother either. Plan on pairing it with a Tatula 300 7.1 with a 117 varial (Same the owner of Drt uses for the ghost) but it felt a little too slow for the 250 last year. Not sure how that will go with the ghost or mother but Ill figure that out second. Thank you guys in advance! Here's a pic of my pb. Hopefully the ghost breaks it. IMG_4432.HEIC

    Dobyns or IRod

Figured with that bigger I rod it’s probably good for 4-8 rather than 3-10. I’m guessing it wouldn’t be bad for a 250 or Bullshooter or klash 9 at all. Kinda figured a rod rated for 8 would be more like a 6 or 7 ounce max so it’s pushing it with a 250.

I’ve lost so many fish on jig hooked baits with my I rod jr it’s not even funny. Fishing literally anything with a jig hoot in the 6” range. Never lost a glide fish on it though.

Professorbass Mega bass or the company leviathan?
  15. I’m looking for a a swimbait rod to get back into throwing 8-10” baits from 3.5-7 ounces. Soft and hard on the same rod. Biggest soft bait I’d throw would be the Defiant 210 or 8” hudd. I settled on the Tatula 300 for a reel and a Varial 117mm. For hard baits I’d be throwing Deps 250, klash 9 and maybe a phoney frogs Shad for the biggest baits. Dobyns Champion xp: 7’9” Heavy 2-8oz 8’ Heavy 2-8 oz 8’ mag heavy 3-10oz or IRod gen3: 8’ Heavy swimbait 3-8oz 8’ Swimbait xl 3-10oz If 3-8oz rods would be enough I’d be interested in the Levante Leviathan or Daiwa rods too but figured for a do-all I’d need something with a tad more back bone. Any other suggestions would help too! Either way I’d appreciate any answers. Thanks! Have a good one. Hope you crush your pb this year.
