  1. Looking to trade for a Hinkle shad in shad. Not too concerned about the condition. Wanting to trade for a MS Slammer, a DEPS 175 and a DEPS 175. All the baits are in good shape but have been fished, see pictures and ask any questions for best descriptions. I never could get one of the DEPS to swim to my liking. Don't forget it is Slammer Time!
  2. Freaking awesome! Did you see him over there or were you just casting to a likely area? Great catch and video. Well done.
  3. No decent fish yet but good times so far.
  4. Wow, that is a beaut! Chefchris is a stand-up dude that really loves swimbaiting and helping people figure out swimbait fishing. I posted something about DEPS175 not swimming right and Chefchris sent me a care package of hooks and instructions to fix the problem, never met him but a great guy. Congrats both of y'all.
  5. No fleet for me, the original Mullet has to go now but it was a great and cheap boat.
  6. My new, to me, boat. The Mullet 2. The Mullet original in the back.
  7. I skunked the last three trips and that was after a couple of fantastic outings the weeks before. The lake is always changing, temp, wind, grass, clarity, baitfish size, weather, boat traffic, jet ski traffic, current, fishing pressure, barometric pressure, swimbaits that are the new rage etc...so you have to adapt and try to figure it out if you want to catch fish. I have had way more skunk trips than fish in boat trips or even follower trips. If it was as easy or quick as all the videos make it look everyone would be catching giants and making videos. You have to be intrigued and interested in figuring out the fish, not just in catching a monster. My first year I think I caught one striper and a couple (maybe) dinks and I fish a lake known for big bass. It is a challenge without a doubt but that should be the fun part not just catching the beast. Keep at it, everyone has doubts at times and there is no magic pill or bait.
  8. Nice fish, what lakes you fish?
  9. Great idea on the marker buoy and cast net! Been wanting a cast net anyways. Gonna add it to the Mullet. Plenty of storage available.
  10. I tell you one thing though, it sure makes it hard to enjoy fishing as much once you decide to tie on an expensive bait like that. Always in fear of it breaking off, so I am not comfortable fishing near any real cover. I wish I could forget how much they cost and just fish it like it is a $5 bait. Oh well, at least this one came back to me this time. Thanks, everyone.
  11. Thank god I had my goggles with me. I took the Mullet out today with the wife and family. I was throwing the phoney and snap. The line broke during a cast at the top eye of the pole and there went my phoney. I immediately hit the spot lock on the ultrex, emptied my pockets and dove in. Yelled for my wife to get my goggles and went diving. After about 10 minutes, I found it sitting on the bottom in 8ft of water amongst big rocks. Two feet of visibility. Had my hand held metal detector in the boat also, but did not need it. Goggles saved the day bc I wear contacts and could not see crap without them.
  12. Similar but it is a deck boat. Business in the front (fishing platform) and party in the back, we call it the Mullet. Not ideal but the wife will go out with me all day long and hang because she is comfy while I fish.
  13. A couple of turns on the reel and then let it glide, let it sit still and sink sometimes, and when it got hung in the grass I would give it a rip to try and free it. They were just hangry and crushing it. Great day. I went back the next day and nada, but managed this big girl on a plastic off of a point. She was busting a shad every now and then and no interest in the phoney so I chunked a brush hop and first cast she nailed it. Best two days of fishing in a long time. No scale but a solid fish.

    Finally!!

Finally after a long time grinding the big baits. I went out yesterday for a few hours on Lake Chickamauga and crushed them. On one stretch of bank in a 100-yard spot, back and forth, only 3 minutes from boat launch with grass coming up in about 5-7 feet of water and the wind from a thunderstorm blowing into it.
  15. Matt Lure Male Hard Gill For Sale Good Condition and is either a slow or medium sink. I was told it was slow sink but not sure how to tell. Looking for $55 TYD OBO. Summer is coming. Small chip, see pictures for details. Great bait I am just downsizing my swimbait collection. No interests in trades. Thanks
