  1. There are several ramps and i went upstream from the main bridge when i fished. It gets shallow up near the dam and from what i have read in reviews there is better fishing to the south. Only been there once so i am stretching to give you what few crumbs of knowledge i have. I chose the direction i went based on wind and being in a vessel that i had not paddled before. Most of the rental places are in the middle that i saw so going to one end would get you away from the rental people and collisions. There is a dog park to the north before the dam also so that may also be a consideration if you are throwing big baits and dont want any mammal followers.
  2. so that means you bought more than one. I need a better job
  3. You can get a canoe out of one of the rentals and do ladybird lake. Supposed to have good size bass there. I brought one pole on my last road trip there and got a few shorts. Water is insanely clear. Caugh my only fish on a watermelon red flake 7" worm. It was in late December and my first fishing trip there. I will be bringing bigger baits for spring break.
  4. Gothe the two pack of the 6 inch today. Initial impressions are the color and pour look good and getting the belly slot open was not all that hard but I thought it was stuck at first. The only thing that did not impress was the eyes. They seem very cheap and the placement seemed kind of off. There stuck in the mold holes so it's not a production issue. Overall for the price we may have a winner. More to follow after rigging and swim tests.
  5. Owner just came out with an xl spring lock that may help
  6. No he is not right. The price is the price and it should be the same. If he offered it for 165 then that's the price not some emotional guessing game depending on how he feels at the moment. Your old enough to understand what acting like an adult is. If he wants 200 then just say so. This new guess the price I feel like game is lame.
  7. Wow are you like a 12 year old girl. This is not a popularity contest. Put a price on the bait and move on. Next you magic 8 ball will say double the price because it's your time of the month.
  8. I have 8 and I did have one with a hinge issue. I sent it back and the sent out a new one. When talking to the rep this seems to be more common on this bait than one would expect. Paint seems to be the most common issue but he did not give me all the dirt. I think if they left a little more clearance in the hinge like the slide swimmer they would have a more consistent product. Will they update or fix the product who knows.
  9. I would tend to say that hand made baits would be more likely to require a little more tuning. Injection plastic should have a very good repeatability and with any qa this would be quickly sorted out. Not impossible but unlikely.
  10. Have two rods I use for big baits. The champion 806 might be overkill and I have an avid 74hf that I use a lot. It handles up to two ounces well.
  11. The tail does not come out that I know. It is secured with a pin but I have not taken one out. Should only take 90 seconds or so to soften up. It's a harder material so it will notake go completely soft. Heat tweAK and hang by the nose to cool.
  12. that's to open up the distance on the glide not fix the action. I had one that stuck to one side and I just got the replacement. Try and straiten the tail and if it still does not swim good contact customer service.
  13. Picked up two and the 8/0 hooks you recommended. Plan on putting some meGA strike on them and testing them out. Do you have a wight for a rigged bait.

  15. For the money the swaiver is going to be hard to beat. I have a bunch and its my first bait i learned to get into glide baits. They swim very good and if you loose one you dont want to cry like looking a hinkle. If your going used you could pick up a slide swimmer 175 for a little bit more money. I have two but have not fished them near as much as my waivers.
  16. You could also "borrow" your girls or moms hair drier and see if that helps. Should leave no marks so if it does not work you can still return.
  17. I have worked a lot with plastic and there are some amazing glues out there. Ips is a company that makes a product line called weldon. They have a very fine one that works for capilary action for cracks. If you are drilling a hole then you will have to find a small piece to cover over before adding a thick version like #16. This glue is amazing for putting back together broken bills if you have both pieces. I found an used it when building saltwater reef aquariums. I trusted it enough to prevent 300 gallons of salt water from ending up all over my house. The thinner stuff also has the highest breaking strength but that is not really an issue here. http://www.eplastics.com/adhesives?gclid=CjwKCAiAqbvTBRAPEiwANEkyCGbpRx_3bz1Yjq10CQE8me_b1Y8LZqP3XkK24Cv5zlfDt1zHHyj2jhoCHZMQAvD_BwE
  18. If you can swing the knot I would Alberto the connection knot and crimp in a owner hyper wire split ring on the terminal end. It may take a few more seconds to change baits with a good pair of pliers but little chance of failure and minimum components low cost.
  19. Unless you find where the water is getting in there is no reason to try and seal the hole. I would add some die to the water and very lightly pressurize the bait to find the leak. You can do this with soap but only put that on the outside, as it's hard to uncontaminate the cracks from soa after.
  20. Ever see a squid jig, were heading that direction
