  1. Wow! Beautiful baits! GLWS!!.....But shouldn’t this be in the BM forum ;)
  2. I second the appreciation! Nick is one of the few makers out there who works to build a positive perception with his customer. Thumbs up to the makers who recognize that their customers are important and its not only about a bait.
  3. May not apply on a big bait forum but have heard “Go small in the fall”
  4. Spots will eat swimbaits/Topwater over the deep brush piles 20-30 ft all summer. The more they are schooled up around that piece of brush, the more likely will come up. If they won’t come up, flip/drop a worm/Dropshot. That’s the summer program on the herring lakes. Swimmers are best over the brush because they want a faster retrieve. I’ve caught them on glides too this way. Also checkout the Coosa River chain of lakes In AL (weiss, logan martin, neely Henry). The Coosa River has some awesome spotted bass fishing and they act like normal bass orienting to shallow cover (Wood and water willow) and current. Coosa spots are the meanest bass on the planet.
  5. I chase the spotted bass out on Lanier but have an idea what the Striper are doing. This time of year...until it starts cooling down...stripers are deep on lanier. 40 plus.. more oxygen down there during the summer. Getting a swimbait bite may be tough this time of year. You’d have to figure out a way to get down to them. I know guys “power reel” big spoons for them this time of year. You’ll need electronics for that. Night time would probably be the best time to fish for striper with swimbaits in July. They get around the dock lights and you can catch them up shallower. I usually catch stripers spring and fall time on topwater and swimbaits when I’m fishing brush piles. They love low light conditions. Nighttime, Early AM and overcast have always been when I noticed the most surface activity from striper. Temps In the 60s and 70s are when I start seeing striper. I’m not an expert on stripers but this is my two cents. There are a couple other guys on SU who fish lanier and Target Stripers, they may have more insight for you.
  6. What’s your opinion on the 794? That’s a new model and I love the 795. Sounds like you have fished one so I’m interested in your feedback.
  7. It’s pinker now. Hit me on DM and I’ll send you a photo.
  8. Top is brand new Bottom was taken right after two days of throwing it on the TN river.
  9. Man, I hear you. Unfortunately, it’s really pink and I won’t be buying another one so you can have them all. The OP asked about others experiences and I shared mine. No blasting, just sharing my experience to a fellow SU member. Honestly, I wish HPH the best. It was just the one interaction that lost me. The baits he makes look amazing new.
  10. Glad you provided your side of the story but your “True perspective” comment infers that I made something up or mis represented something which I have not. Really your answer confirms my perspective and experience. I bought a bait from you..barely fished it and it turned pink. Just not something I’d expect from a well made expensive bait. You have your reasons noted above on why you didn’t help me after I reached out but I would have liked to see you help me out with another bait. It’s an unfortunate experience as I liked the bait and wanted to fish it. In fact, I would have bought other baits from you...now, due to the experience, it’s hard to rationalize buying any more.
  11. Bought a 6 inch...took a while but it was beautiful when I got it... Unfortunately, I fished for a couple days on the TN River and it turned pink. Asked for help but was told the epoxy turns that color w enough UV...Maker told me to sell it as someone would want it if I didn’t want it. Wish this wasn’t my experience because they are amazing looking as new baits.
  12. Yes, I have been using Zelle! It’s good if you trust the person you are buying from. The deposit into their account is immediate. Most all of the major Consumer financial institutions offer zelle so that’s a great option for specific transactions.
  13. It’s legit. Called into PayPal’s official 1-800. They are randomly locking accounts.
  14. I can’t imagine why either. When you call, They won’t tell why. The only reason given is they need to identify the person behind the account with no other back story. Also, For my case, I have never collected money...Only purchased so I’m not a business that’s hiding. Just a random dude that fishes and buys baits. It’s as dumb as it gets.
  15. SU community, Has anyone else had problems with them? What’s your story? Tell it here! I have a couple people in my network on SU who have experienced PayPal locking accounts and asking for details on transactions or even requiring photo ID. Huge overstep in my opinion. We are just buying baits. Looking for a plan B payment solution with purchase protection. Would like to hear what other payment solutions you guys have used and have been happy with... Would be cool to see SU adopt a second option so we could have choices to send/receive cash on the SU BM.
  16. Dobyns 795 with a Tranx 200 is what I have for throwing baits in that weight range and I like the set up.
  17. Would love to see a photo of this green Gorilla club surprise color if you could post once it arrives!
  18. Thanks, Anthony! He’s right! Been working hard to find something. Hoping the SU community can come through!
  19. Sounds like something you could replicate every year. Love when I get something dialed like that. Looking forward to hearing about more bigs this fall!
  20. That’s a great pic! Toad w a herring hanging out!
