  1. Is that going to be a "true" travel rod, or is it a 1 piece main blank ferruled at the handle to accommodate storage / transport of an 8'6" rod?
  2. If the TK arrives in time, you might want to deadwalk it.
  3. Valkyrie World Expedition rods are great. I have the VKC-711XH-4 and fish it all the time. Treble hook rod for sure though, not a jig hook / weedless bait rod.
  4. It can be somewhat more situational than that. Generally, I find that a split ring or snap will usually result in a more choppy action, where a direct tie usually allows the bait to glide as wide as the hydrodynamics / shape of the bait allow. Again, personal experience with individual baits is best.
  5. Flash Carp is super popular. The SU Golden Shiner looks great. Ayu is a solid generic baitfish color. Any of the Ghost colors can help present a generic, less bold profile in high clarity waters.
  6. https://instagram.com/stories/tackleotaku/3211554124382272200?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=ODk2MDJkZDc2Zg== Ben from THUT says the app only works in Japan.
  7. Also, at the time that the Tackle Tour article was published (January 2023) the app was Japanese only. No idea if there's an English version now or not.
  8. The initial article / review I read about it on Tackle Tour made it seem more like a proof of concept than anything.
  9. I just listened to Reel Tweeks on Cast and Crank podcast the other day. He's in SoCal and seemed like the kind of guy that would help you out.
  10. If there is a cavity to add weight, you can put anything in there like tungsten nails or bullet sinkers so you can get it dialed accurately.
  11. Tungsten putty is messy. Lead tape, lead wire, or grenade weights are better options IMO.
  12. Adding a split ring or snap to a glide bait can change the action of the bait. There's absolutely no problem with what you are doing, it's a common practice. My advice is to fish the baits both with and without the split ring and see how the action differs and if one is more productive than the other.
  13. Leviathan is coming out with the Bushwacker designed and field tested by Marshall aka Homeless Fisherman.
  14. Pretty sure that was @Crazybassfisher video, not sure which one tho.
  15. Still in prototypes, if you follow the DRT pages on IG, there are sporadic posts of the bait.
  16. Got my pre-order in (Patreon member early access) and really looking forward to the new issue.
  17. Dobyn's has possibly the top customer service for high production rods, and a few different models that would be suitable for the baits you mentioned.
  18. Got mine yesterday and will be throwing it on the weekend.
  19. Probably double split rings or assist cord would be a less invasive procedure.
  20. Don't concern yourself too much with what other people are doing if you're enjoying yourself and having successful outings. If you want to concentrate on soft baits, do it. It's not like hard baits are going to cease to exist and will never be an available option for you in the future.
  21. Leviathan rods are available from Tackle Warehouse.
  22. The St. Croix is probably going to be very unforgiving with treble hook baits below 4oz, probably better suited for your Citizen 7s for now.
  23. Upvote for the classic truck included in the pic.
  24. Andromeda is a 6oz class bait, should be in the sweet spot for Leviathan XH
