Is there anyone fishing the Yunique gill on the Trokar 5/0 that has noticed issues with the hook bending or failing on large fish? Or having trouble keeping fish pegged because of the hook angle? If so curious if you guys are throwing braid to leader or something else?

Good looks man, I’d been looking to pick up a couple packs for when gill season comes back around for me. Curious how everyone is rigging and fishing these. I’ve watched the rigging tutorial but Im pretty worried about fishing it braid-leader and having that hook fail on a big fish.

Dope man, thank you. I’m going to be saving the majority of my money for Kyoto. Funny, I actually do know the zipper issue. The group I’m going with is into streetwear/sneakers etc. and that will be another big thing our trip is based around (and the food), so I actually expected if I came back with any tactical clothing it’ll be mostly reversed.

Solid tip. I have heard this, and I know they’re everywhere just was curious if anyone had anything really notable especially in the swimbait game. Hoping to recreate this trip for the Keep Cast in the next couple years and dedicate some more time to the fishing and learning. just stoked to see the culture around fishing there I see so much of online.

Anyone have any luck in the actual catching department during their trips? I’m hoping in March there should be fish shallow enough to access from shore.

Wow awesome, this is gonna be a great start for all this. I was actually hoping to find something with some cool high-end pre owned stuff. Would love to make it home with a couple reels and baits I can’t get over here.

Wow man thank you so much this is a really helpful start. I've heard that Kyoto is really the spot to stop for tackle as well. Planning on basically bringing one 3-8 (probably) travel rod,a reel and one wrap of baits since I won't be able dedicate the trip to only fishing. Seen a few small bait makers in the area with some amazing looking work. I would have loved to make it for Keep Cast but unfortunately I don't get into Tokyo until the following week. I've heard of a couple of these tackle shops and am stoked to look into the others!
