  7. One other thing that can really help extend the life of any battery is a master kill switch. I installed a perko battery disconnect switch on my cranking/house battery to protect against it being slowly drained from various sources. I suspect something on my outboard was draining it but not sure what. Now I switch it to off position as soon as I get home and it’s good to go. Many new boats include these switches in the bilge.
  8. Hands down from my own experience and dozens of reviews/experiences of others on bass boat central forum the best marine battery and for that matter the best value really is the Duracell AGM batteries sold at sams club. This battery is made by Deka batteries for Duracell. I have gotten 6 years easily out of this battery. Originally I ran the same model (group 31 size) from Deka, called the intimadator marine agm ... not the Duracell. But come to find out Duracell battery is the same exact model, even the same part number. Many guys on BBC forum will vouch for it, it’s the same exact battery. The Duracell is much cheaper from sams club than anything you can find branded directly from Deka. AGM stands for absorbed glass matt, basically the acid is soaked up inside a fiberglass type matting material between the lead plates. There is no liquid sloshing around in the batteries and they are completely sealed. You can even mount them sideways. It’s similar to a six pack type optima battery without the spiral cells. The advantages are, the batttery can sit for months without draining down but like 1% , traditional lead acid and gel drain as much as 10% which of course kills it as you well know. Also it can be drained/charged like over 400 times before showing any weakness. Because of the absorbent matting they are super vibration resistant, meaning the lead plates are much less likely to delaminate from vibration -another battery killer. They are a couple pounds heavier than liquid lead acid but it’s not enough to matter. Also most all of them are dual purpose cranking and deep cycle for trolling. They are just absolutely great batteries. Interstate offers a AGM battery as well , get a quote on one I bet you it’s all over $300 for a 31 size. I paid $179 at sams but looks like they have them on sale for 159 for the next week or so. If you are running anything more than just a graph and starting the motor I would suggest a 31 size, for your troller you could probably go with 2 group size 27 i run 3 size 31, one starting/2 10” graphs/ hb360/lights and two for the 82 lb motorguide tour. I can fish two days straight and not recharge. Also this battery is approved by mercury for 250 pro xs(2 stroke) that motor took a lot of CCA to run properly.
  9. If you are going bigger than the baits you mentioned at first....Daiwa Luna 300 can be had new for $220 on eBay. Hell of a reel at that price. I got mine new for far less than that on auction. It’s sweet straight out the box , but throw a couple bearings in the handle knobs and a bearing under the drive shaft to replace bushings and it’s (almost) conquest smooth. One of the few daiwas still made in Japan.
  10. I agree. Not bashing TW, but they seem slow getting back orders shipped out as well even after it comes in stock. I back ordered a rod, with due date of 2/28. They came in on time. But I had to call them twice in the following week and half to see if my rod was shipping out or not. The guy I spoke with said the back orders were slow to process sometimes. A few days after the second phone call I got shipment confirmation email.
  11. Sold. Thanks SU
  12. Price drop 145 tyd
