  1. Like a famous actor used to say: D'OH!
  2. Well i guess it has been a long and tough day at work... Not too proud of this one! Thanks
  3. SHIMANO chronarch CI4+ is a great reel but not a swimbait reel. You could get away with 6 inch swimbaits but would not go bigger than that. But did I mention it is a great reel!
  4. Thank you. That is exactly what I am looking for. I already have the Dobyns 795ML for smaller swimbaifs and topwater.
  5. I am looking at the Bailey rod. Could you tell me a little more about it (handling weight and action wise). My first language is French so I am not sure is friggin rugged is good or bad! Looking to throw the Deps250 with it. Thank you
  6. Bass will eat trout pattern swimbaits even if no trout is present in the lake you are fishing in. What do you think would happen if you put a distress trout in front of a bass that never saw a trout? It will go for it no questions asked. Trout pattern have caught me fish and there is no trout in the bodies of water that I fish.
  7. I live up in north east where a 5 pounder is a heavy fish. Most fishermen are throwing 4" swimbaits and jerkbaits. I too found a five inch massive 5 years ago. I now do not throw anything under 9" for pike, which will be looked at as crazyness by most fishermen in my region. No problem going to 7" for top water lure and glide baits for bass. THESE ARE MASS PRODUCERS OF QUALITY FISH. Caught even a 3 pounder at dawn on a 12" AC plug minnow. I always remind myself that all live beings are lazy animals (including humans!). A fish will be looking for the largest energy source available for the least energy deployed to get it. Have not yet had a bass commit to a sinking swimbait over 6 inches however.
  8. I own the champion 795ML Not sure how it compares to the Fury 795 but the Champion has the perfect tip IMO for glide baits Ssuch as the SWaver 168. Go fluoro. If theFury as the same rating, it is way overrated in the weight of baits it can handle. I do not go further than 2.5oz with that rod.
  9. For me in the northeast for both smallmouth and largemouth (and pike...) Gancraft OSA 115 (phenomenal) Deps Buzzjet AC Plug minnow (amazed how that average looking bait is a fish magnet) MS Slammer Delta Woob Bomber Sinister 5 (best walking bait IMO)
  10. got an email from Kevin yesterday! He will fulfill my order. VERY HAPPY HE WILL !
  11. Hello, Three weeks ago I ordered a Glide Gill from Kevin Lee at BCG. I left him two emails for color selection and expected shipping date. I did not get a single reply. I understand these custom artists are slow to answer and to complete their orders (I have waited several times more than three months for a lure), but they usually reply to their emails. Please let me know if this is normal and waiting time I should expect to get my bait, should you know... I hope all is well with him. Thank you
  12. I guess from your user name you live in Maine. Then consider big wakebaits such as MS Slammer and AC Plug Minnow (the mid-size one is deadly on both largemouth and smallmouth in Québec). My brother lives in Maine and fishing Under the same conditions as we have here in Canada. Have fun experimenting this year! So will I with a few new swimbaits in my arsenal...
  13. Head scratching question... SWaver Top Shelf Magnum Deep Runner Series Swimbait Why: multi species effective all year quality and quantity
  14. HELLO, I am from Montreal, Canada and New to this forum. I have been throwing swimbaits of+6inches for 5 years now. I live and fish where a 5lbs is the equivalent of a ten pound in California. Most fishermen here fish with spinning rods and finesse applications. I AM dedicated to swimbaits fishing. I AM proving northern bass are also on swimbaits! Caught multiple 3+pound bass on 7" swimbaits. LOVE THE MS Slammer, the Lunker Punker, Thrash Fish, Sebile Magic Swimmer and MEGABASS I slide. New last year to glide baits. Waiting to throw the Deps250 and SWaver + BCG Glide bream this upcoming year. ALSO HAVE the Hudd and the Bullshad New in the arsenal. Looking to share my passion and get some helpful tricks from avid swimbaiters. Regards, THE NORTHERN GLIDER
