    Rat fishing

Trying to get into rat fishing this summer. What is a good all around size rat for trophy hunting? For normal baits I usually prefer 8-10 inches. Any ideas on specific rats? Thinking of a used Nezzuma but willing to take ideas. Xl or xxl nezzuma?
  2. Anybody out there who has fished Irvine lake recently? Thinking about putting some time in there since it is close. Any big fish there recently? I know it’s trout stocked, but only since it reopened this year. Does it have the potential to hold an 8+ lber? How much swimbait pressure does it receive?
  3. Want to buy a deps 250. Not too picky about colors. Original or new. Send me some offers.
  4. Do any of you guys have experience with Izorline xxx? I know that as a co-poly line it should land somewhere in between flourocarbon and mono. But what does this mean specifically? Does it still sink like flourocarbon? Does it stretch a lot? I have been looking for cheap but reliable flourocarbon to fish hardbaits. I know that the Izorline xxx isn't technically flourocarbon, but am still wondering how it compares to a true 100% flouro.
  5. Looking to buy an Irod Genesis series rod for throwing 2-6 ounce softbaits. The only thing that worries me a little bit is the fact the rod is two piece, and seperates at the handle. Won't this ruin the feel of the rod and sensitivity? Do you guys have any experience with this line of rods? Does the collapsible handle make any difference? Another option that I'm considering is the okuma guide select xh or the xxh. How does this compare to the irod?
  6. Just bought my first deps 175 a couple of days ago. I am used to cheaper glide baits like the s waver, and the storm arashi. This is my first step into a quality one. What hooks do you guys like to put on your deps 175. Typically I use owner ST-36 and Owner ST-56 if that gives you any idea of what I'm used to. Looking for the bait to slow sink, or maybe even suspend at about 4-5 feet below the surface.
