You’re gonna wanna bend the screw eyes that sit behind the wing slightly forward so they are not perpendicular to the bait, not like a full 45 degrees but you want them angled forward slightly. Then your gonna want to grab the wing itself and twist those slightly forward as well so they sit with the cupped side facing slightly down towards the water, again these are slight angles nothing too exaggerated. This is the best tune for the fpj imo. The more perpendicular wing angle like you have it works better on the one piece monkas I’ve found but I mostly fish the two piece. Last note if the wing is sticking halfway you may need to tighten/loosen the bracket that holds the wing to the bait since it’s probably catching somewhere on that inner edge of the wing that rubs on the body from being too tight or creating a binding point in the joint itself from being too loose

Pretty hard to find but there’s a couple jdm model 250s out there that have a knocker in them. Caught a couple 7s on mine but it takes on water so it’s semi retired. Also sneaky Pete’s are a notorious striper glide that have a knocker in them and pretty vheap like the arashi

Doesn’t require that level of force to develop a blister on a grippy rubber material. wasn’t even thinking dirt bike I was think bmx bike or even golfing, both of which generally require the use of gloves. Particularly when there’s going to be some rotation generated in the grip as when using a fishing rod. Furthermore to use your own point as another argument against, you don’t need to grip a fishing rod that tight, you’re absolutely right, so what’s the need for the extra grip then? aesthetically very cool and definitely smart to tap into since swimbaiting and bmx/skate culture are seemingly adjacent, but from a utilitarian perspective I don’t see it as a great improvement on anything. Especially when they’re running $700 lol

I can feel the blisters already lol cool concept but that’s a pass from me

What I’m saying is that is false information. The 22 zillion 1000 hd is made in Japan. There are not multiple “versions” of the same model. Other model zillions have been Malaysian, new one is not. Show me one that says made in Malaysia.
-
This is incorrect. The new zillion 1000 had IS MADE IN JAPAN. The older 1520 hd is Malaysian made perhaps that’s what you’re referring to. in regards to op question I have not used the new zillion, can say first hand the bantam is sick, but they have very similar specs. Bantam has multiple options for gear ration I believe the zillion only comes in the 7.1 . Would love to try the new zillion if it came in a 6.3 ratio

Personally I think 117 is ridiculous lol but obviously some dude like it. I’ve been runnin 87 and 95 mm on my lower ipt reels (under 30 ipt) and 100 mm over 30 ipt. I still have the stock 110 on my 33 ipt tatula and at some point I would like to put a 100 on it. Whether it’s actually going to cause damage may be debatable as in theory the drag should give before you start torquing gear teeth but potentially you could if you have the drag absolutely locked to 20+ lbs and start wrenching on a log lol. It’d be like like using a cheater bar to break a bolt loose, at a certain point a bigger lever is gonna start breaking bolt heads off if the threads are rusted in there

want to buy/want to trade for ‘14-15 Calcutta 200 spool

Yur right and they also have locking plates. Probably has more to do with the drag than the locking nut
-
All brands will thread differently based on left or right hand retrieve….otherwise the handle would screw off on the retrieve.

I don’t have first hand experience but in terms of power I don’t think your going to find a rod that magically transforms from a big bait rod to a Texas rig rod without sacrificing something on one end or the other. The top 1/3 of the blank is going to determine the action in terms of fast/moderate and that is going to make the biggest difference when changing fishing types -

I’d look at the Triza dragoon if you’re serious about fishing Swimbaits and conventional on 1 setup
