  1. Had a 2018 and I agree that for a $600 reel it just felt cheap and light, id take a conquest any day of the week over either Antares
  2. lol you bouta pay $20 for shipping tho
  3. Got mine rigged up in the truck headed out after work. Nice fish!
  4. What I’m saying is that is false information. The 22 zillion 1000 hd is made in Japan. There are not multiple “versions” of the same model. Other model zillions have been Malaysian, new one is not. Show me one that says made in Malaysia.
  5. This is incorrect. The new zillion 1000 had IS MADE IN JAPAN. The older 1520 hd is Malaysian made perhaps that’s what you’re referring to. in regards to op question I have not used the new zillion, can say first hand the bantam is sick, but they have very similar specs. Bantam has multiple options for gear ration I believe the zillion only comes in the 7.1 . Would love to try the new zillion if it came in a 6.3 ratio
  6. Personally I think 117 is ridiculous lol but obviously some dude like it. I’ve been runnin 87 and 95 mm on my lower ipt reels (under 30 ipt) and 100 mm over 30 ipt. I still have the stock 110 on my 33 ipt tatula and at some point I would like to put a 100 on it. Whether it’s actually going to cause damage may be debatable as in theory the drag should give before you start torquing gear teeth but potentially you could if you have the drag absolutely locked to 20+ lbs and start wrenching on a log lol. It’d be like like using a cheater bar to break a bolt loose, at a certain point a bigger lever is gonna start breaking bolt heads off if the threads are rusted in there
  7. Looking for a spare spool for a ‘14-15 Calcutta conquest 200
  8. Yur right and they also have locking plates. Probably has more to do with the drag than the locking nut
  9. All brands will thread differently based on left or right hand retrieve….otherwise the handle would screw off on the retrieve.
  10. I don’t have first hand experience but in terms of power I don’t think your going to find a rod that magically transforms from a big bait rod to a Texas rig rod without sacrificing something on one end or the other. The top 1/3 of the blank is going to determine the action in terms of fast/moderate and that is going to make the biggest difference when changing fishing types
  11. I’d look at the Triza dragoon if you’re serious about fishing Swimbaits and conventional on 1 setup
  12. lol dude has a lot of hard evidence to back his ish. Just cause he’s monetizing his passion doesn’t mean it’s a blatant cash grab or scam. Keep fighting the good fight tho brother, don’t forget to look away from the screen and take bathroom breaks.
  13. Ya I actually started pointing it at the bait but holding the rod parallel to the water so the line doesn’t drag bottom, I fish them in a steep reservoir with lots of stumps, it is what it is lol
  14. I’m pretty baked but that ish is mad funny
  15. I did, but quite frankly I’ve never seen a fish on the bait other than glide mode
  16. That’s the bluegill pattern just fyi
  17. Can’t go wrong with seaguar abrazx or invizx for a little more stretch or sunline sniper they are the most popular for a reason
  18. “Perhaps something a little different…like another 9” glide” lol jk I know it’s not the same action but I would maybe go a little further outside the box and recommend a wake bait/crankdown or even a multi joint swimmer. I’d say a wake is pretty essential for any swimbait fisherman
  19. Nice! Butch had it figured out. 250 & hudds will always get it done. Problem with the hudds is I lose about 4 for every fish I’ve caught lol! Good job
  20. Just loaded up on trout baits for the April stock we get next week, hoping to get on something nice too. Great fish!
  21. One technique that I absolutely have not mastered because it requires you to stay conscious during that super quick little burst of excitement when they eat at your feet but once they’ve hooked themselves you can disengage the spool so when they run there is little to no resistance, on a lot of jdm videos you can hear the clicking of the clutch engaging and disengaging as they try to land it, again not always easy to think that quick in the moment but it’s something worth trying
  22. Haven’t seen these in the og gill colorway that’s super dope
