  1. I don't plan on selling it but do you mind elaborating what a *true floater* really is. Obviously it floats but whats the difference between that and another bait that's labelled as floating?
  2. Thats the plan right now just haven't had too much time to fish because of school and the weather up north has been awful recently. If the split rings don't change anything I'll try throwing on some larger hooks as well. I appreciate the info
  3. Haha appreciate the offer but ill see if I can do some tuning myself
  4. It seems like a lot of people have problems with getting in contact with him, might be better for me to get in contact with tackle warehouse instead. Guess I definitely got a floating model instead of a SS... this is a pretty bad first experience with mattlures especially from hearing all the good things about them.
  5. Gonna definitely try the stock split rings out again. Speaking of line I run 16lb fluorocarbon to get the most action out of my baits so I doubt its the fishing line. Thanks for the suggestions!
  6. That's not too reassuring. Maybe ill have to try putting some grenade sinkers on the hooks or lead tape to keep it down.
  7. I'm looking for some insight on the mattlures hardgill sink rate. To start this off I recently bought a SS hardgill from TW and swapped out the stock split rings which were fairly big for the size of the swimbait. I swapped out the split rings to size #4 split rings as I though they would be a better fit. I'm unsure of what size the split rings were originally but think they were either size #5 or #6. When I went out today to test the bait I noticed the bait wouldn't sink and would swim on the surface even when I burned it as fast as I could. Is this issue because I changed the split rings to smaller ones or did I receive a bait that was marked as a SS but instead received a floating model? Personally I don't think the change in the split rings could affect the bait this much but I'm not the most experienced swimbait fisherman out there. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Damn thats a shame to hear. I've bought multiple items and they all came in perfect condition.
  9. Can attest for buyee as well. Bought a 73 remix from there and the rod was packaged very well. Be prepared to spend time getting used to the website, also any artex rod thats being resold is thousands of dollars due to the way raffles are held to purchase the rod itself.
  10. How do you guys feel the leader affects the action of glide baits?

    PB rat fish

The rat is the most exciting way to catch those big bass, congrats!
  12. Hell yeah! Congrats man
  13. I was wondering what line choices people usually use when fishing for bass around muskie and pike. Currently im using 50lb braid with a 80lb fluoro leader and I feel due to the line size and weight of the hardware its hurts the action quite a lot when fishing glide baits. I was thinking of switching to 20lb copoly/fluoro with no leader to increase the action and maneuverability of glide baits, with 3oz being around the max weight of any baits I would throw. More or less I want to know if youve had any horrible experiences fishing in these types of waters with straight fluoro/copoly.
  14. Thanks for the replies guys. Any idea if he hints that he's doing a drop soon or do I just have to check his site everyday?
