Certainly didn't mean it like that. Grouping you guys together because I haven't really dove in yet, and the swimbait world seems completely different than the traditional bass fishing world. I got some good info though- I figured a lot of guys were doing it as a "cred" thing, but never thought about the sponsorship angle.

Haha- I dunno you tell me? I've never seen that before until I started looking into the swimbaiting community. It's one thing to take a pic with the bait still in it's mouth because it's there, but I see a lot of people holding up the rod and reel too like it HAS to be in the photo... also GUARANTEE some of you re-place the bait in the fishes mouth so it looks better in a photo...
  4. Gotta ask- what's with you swimbaiter's and the way you take photos? ie- seems the rod and bait have to be present in the photo, or it doesn't really count...
  5. okay now I gotta have one. How do I find one!?
  6. Thanks guys- prior to starting this thread I joined the newsletter and have the link for the bait on my phone so I can refresh it every time I go on there. Lol overkill maybe but that's what it takes!
  7. Hey all- new to swimbaiting but I really want to add a 6" citizen in the militia color to my small arsenal. How often do these get dropped and if I'm paying attention do I have a decent chance of picking a pack up in the next month or two or should I move onto something more readily available? Thanks!
  8. Has anyone used this rod at all?
  9. I know this is an old statement, but I'm new here and curious about this. Can anyone explain? IE Big lures vs Swimbaits
  10. Haha- you'll never see me with a drop shot or senko in my hands that's for sure! Great info- that's another rod I was looking at. I know it's not the best option, but I will probably stick with a heavy braid.
  11. Yes thank you- I didn’t see the newbie sticky before I posted my bad!
  12. Do you throw soft baits or hard baits primarily?
  13. Hey all, Newbie hopeful to get into the swimbait game. I've been throwing around the smaller paddle tails (Keitech) over the last couple years and really enjoying fishing them, looking to graduate into something a little bit bigger. First off, are most of you swimbait guys dedicated swimbait fisherman or do you spend a decent amount of time doing conventional stuff? When I think big swimbaits, I know there are two styles. Big rubber or the glide baits- do most of you tend to lean one way or the other or are you throwing both? Any suggestions on a starter setup rod/reel? I can't spend wild amounts of money but want something that will service me for quite a while. I was eyeing the Daiwa DX swimbait rod and was hopeful to get away with a Tatula 200 reel as opposed to the 300. I want something that can handle rubber "jig hook" baits as well as some smaller glides. Off the top of my head I'm thinking things like the Huddleston 68 or Weedless Gill- I don't think I'd want to think about an 8" Hudd right away. When I talk glides I'm thinking Gantarel Jr. or something along the size of a Deps 145. Would this rod handle both styles of swimbaits? Would any rod handle both styles? Any other suggestions for rods/reels?
