Another solid 4lber on chad shad. I saw him approach from left after few cast but he shy away, So next cast I cast behind him ad exactly at that spot I twitch and bring the lure little down and BAM he was on it and I had solid hooks. I was proud of myself for that catch, I hunt that bass like a pro .
I am going to buy another chad shad same color today, I suggest you guys do the same, Really working. If I had money I would buy 10 of them just in case LOL.

You get numb. Personally, I have no regret to snag break, but casting off? When you get to watch that all world distance and marvel at that wonderful arch and splashdown?
    That hurts…

Hey bro I’m sorry man that sucks. I have a K9 that I’ll send to you for free if you’d like. It’s not brand new but hopefully it can make up for getting ripped off

I started my swimbait journey not too long ago and was finding it hard to keep at it. I ended up getting really lucky and @Jim137a kindly sold me a hinkle shad at a broke college student price point. I was infatuated by its stability and glide. It was my first really nice bait and I sure as hell wasn’t just gonna let it collect dust. Fished it for months with more followers than I can count, (I’m not great at counting) but finally stuck one. Just a 3 pounder but it was one of my most exhilarating fishing experiences as I saw the fish dart out and hammer it. I still love fishing the bait to this day and although I don’t catch them all, it sure is fun. Now I use a more diverse lineup of swimbaits but that bait got me invested and determined to continue throwing big baits for even bigger fish. Shoutout to @Jim137a for getting me addicted to swimbait fishing, best way to escape my college stress.

I use the tequila baccarac and it’s 7’0.  Suits me really well for kayak fishing and bank fishing where there isn’t alot of casting room. Ive been throwing bigger single hook soft baits like the citizen 6.

Have you thought about mounting some of those hobie horizontal rod tip protectors?
The first rod I used was this beast of a rod. I think it was a 7-10 Abu garcia. My arms would feel like they were going to fall off after 4-5 hours. Having a light/short rod has been great for arm fatigue. I ended up trading one of my casting rods that I wasn't using for a P5 Tequila Baccarac. I only have been throwing a TK and 6 inch Citizens though.

Best move I ever made was going from a 10’ to a 12’6” yak. Built a TM Mount and picked up a nice AGM battery. No more paddling! That saves a lot of the aches and pains. It also allowed me to stand and fish comfortably. I can swing for the fences and she’s very stable. I’d never go back to a smaller yak. Also has room for my portable fishfinder. And with being able to stand, you can fish those longer rods easily

I fish out of the same kayak and can say that I almost never fish while sitting down, I run a Dobyns 867 as well and chuck the 7 oz deps 250 for hours on end without issue. When I fish sitting down it’s a bit annoying but still manageable. I’d say that above all else standing even in current is the way to go just for the fact that you can set the hook far more easily and you can also maneuver everything including your casts with much more ease. Just make sure your balance is up to par.

For the rod storage I much prefer them to be vertical. In the 12 or so years I’ve fished from a kayak the only rods I’ve broken were when I had them laying down horizontally and ran into something and broke the tip. That said if I was to fish a moving river I would figure out a way to keep them laying down and not vertical because that’s a whole other deal….
something like this memory foam seat cushion can make a HUGE difference in a day!  There’s no telling how many 10+ hour days I’ve put on this kayak (yesterday being one) and that little seat cushion can really help your back. I also try to make it a point to get out of the kayak for a lunch break and stand and stretch and move my legs that can really help just readjust your position from being hunched over all day.
I own a bass boat and still there’s no way I’d even think about getting rid of the yak. I’ve put more miles and hours on this thing than my wife should have allowed by now!!

Kind of whack man, sold you that bait for $220 shipped to help you out a week ago and now it’s here being flipped, not the best way to go about getting baits

Got my first walleye on a glide bait last night. Feels good when you set goals and you grind it out till you accomplish them! Next goal is to get that 10 lbs  walleye. Nights haven’t been to cold yet so I will be grinding hard till my rod tip guides start to freeze!

I typed up a little bit of a story so if you don't have time, you're a picture reader, or have a short attention span feel free to skip the mumbo jumbo and get to the meat.
So, Wednesday evening I was fishing water that I had fished all summer and have noticed they are getting into their fall pattern over the last couple of weeks. I had one follow up shallow and was seeing fish suspended on sonar with no way to efficiently get to their depth. This was my first trip out on this lake with any kind of electronics (new portable GPS/sonar setup) so I decided to just kick around and see what's on the bottom. There's one point in particular that always seemed like it should be a good spot but I never found much by it. I start zig-zagging around and way off the bank and right off the side of the slope I find a handful of submerged trees in about 25ft with the tops at a depth of ~12ft. I could tell there were fish in and around the trees but no good way to get to them.
Then it pops in my head...while traveling for work a month or so ago I stopped in the Dream Catchers shop and actually had a brief conversation with Austin. I had told him how he got me hooked on the K9 earlier this year but have only ever fished it in glide mode. He told me I was missing out and he was going to be posting a video in the upcoming days of a fish he caught cranking it over the top of a submerged tree...
I went back over the area and determined I should be safe cranking down and should have enough clearance to stay out of the trees. I move off the spot, pop the lip in, flip the tail, and bomb a cast over where the trees were. With the rod tip in the water, I start burning it. Gave it a pause, burn burn burn, pause again and as soon as the bait stopped I got absolutely SLAMMED. I lean into the fish and am in disbelief it worked - I kid you not this was my first cast ever cranking it down. While I'm having this thought, the fish digs and pulls some drag which then I know it's a good fish so I start being a bit more careful - this was on 17lb CXX which I had a lot of confidence in, but can't be too careful I guess. Get the fish to the surface and immediately knew it was bigger than any bass I had ever caught. He digs one more time and I'm able to get him boatside and in the net. Once in the net, he was even bigger than I thought; gotta love some "net growth".
Got the hooks out, put him on the scale and hoist him up. The number just kept going up and when it passed 9lbs I think I may have ish myself a bit. To be sure, I put him back in the net/water and turned off and reset the scale. Sure enough, got it steady and locked it in at 9.12lbs. Unbelievable. I still can't wrap my head around it the day after. And to think I almost didn't even go...the thought to go home crossed my mind since I had a good hour drive to get across Atlanta plus sunset getting earlier and earlier. Crazy how things work out sometimes. This will be one I likely won't top for a while!

My first big one of the DRT Tiny klash! Have been catching a bunch on my joythief but all have been in that 5lb-2lb range. I'm pretty exstatic to finally land a good one in mode b. 9.1lbs on my scale but such a short fish overall. Hopefully get to pick up another color asap.

If it is a trokar you can tell by the hook point. Will have 3 distinctly flat sides on the point rather than being round
