Was at a community pond and got neck deep, mush up to my knees, searching with my feet for a klash9. It was the first “expensive” I bought and had just caught my pb with it a few weeks before. Wasn’t letting it go. Found the piece of wood it was snagged on. Got it up from muck after a struggle and got the bait back. The branch/limb is still where I left it poking out of the water, a nice reminder. On top of that there was a few people watching me, can only imagine what they were thinking

Stopped by the pond for about an hour after work. Heard stories of big ones there but always caught on live bait. Been going there for a couple years and this was my least favorite place till this last winter. Always getting skunked on regular tackle. Started fishing it more regularly and realized they want the big baits. Started with a googan bait (I know) but was new to the game and if I lost it no big deal. It caught them tho. Got my confidence up to throw more expensive stuff. Got tk and they crushed that. Stepped up to a k9 and caught this beauty today. Crushed it 5ft from me. New pb as well.
