  1. I've built 16 rods on NFC blanks (5 different swimbait blanks) and I highly recommend them. I don't know anything about the F5 rods. If you are looking for a giant crankbait look no further than the Neo heavy blank MB 808 xray. Its a great all around treble hook bait rod that is a composite blank. The blank has a graphite handle with a glass tip which gives it a bigger sweet spot range. If I can only have one rod with me I'm grabbing that one. It can throw everything from my conventional like frogs, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits up to a deps 250. The 250 is about all it can handle though. Also NFCs salmon bounce back or BB rods and are great swimbait rods. For mid size swimbaits 2-4 oz the BB 806 is perfect with a real nice deep bend that just launches baits. But I like the NeoXh better for walking baits like the plunker. Guessing by you user name you might like the 250, for that I like the BB809 over the SWB808. They say the SWB 808 is a mod fast rod, but it is a fast rod. The BB809 is slower. Its a slippery slop my friend once you start building rods. But if you are going NFC blanks they are way cheaper if you buy at least three in their sales. My BB blanks were like $48 each plus tax (couple years ago). So the finished rods were under $120, you can't beat that price.
  2. Cancel your order and goto swimbait city for your shellcrackers and lunker punkers
  3. Can confirm, I glued all my playboys together in junior high
  4. This guy economics! It's your right in a free capitalism society to not buy them. It's too bad you have freedom of speech because your argument is dumb.
  5. I'm interested in this too, i have one but haven't had great success with it yet. I've caught fish with it deflecting off of stumps. But the bullshad 4x4 is better for that and way less snags. Never caught anything cranking it at a medium speed. But i never really fished it as a wake. I will give it another shot in the spring, but you have to go pretty slow to wake.
  6. I love Ashley Graham, wait what are we talking about?
  7. Thanks this was a good lead, I found his video After watching the butch video, i think he is using a mix of 610 and alumafoam so it has enough strength to hold the eyelets for the hinge
  8. Can someone who has one take a picture of where butch drills the 6 holed
  9. I recently casted my boneur 250 into a concrete bridge and now the front section has taken on water. So the plan is to try the Butch brown tune to salvage the bait. Ive watched his video on it but i dont know what foam he uses, what eyelets to use or where he drills the 6 holes. Has anyone tried this? Any tips you can share would be great help.
  10. Sounds like you need the new xray swb 909! They say 12-24oz, time to get a musky
  11. Those rats look like quark from star trek
  12. Ive built over a dozen rods from them, all of them came out great. Ive built the SWB 807, 808, BB809 and BB 806 all on the IM blank material and nice rods. The bounce back rods are awesome treble bait hooks. The xray rods ive built for conventional tackle are the lightest most sensitive rods ive used. Ive never used anything built on the new carbon air blanks. My SWB808 weighs 6 ozs so you could get down to 5 oz on the new blank. The IM blanks are cheap when they have sales $45 each when i bought 3. So you have to ask yourself is that extra $100 worth one ounce lighter rod. That being said, I'm intrigued by the idea of using the new blank with one of those new handles with the reel seat built in.
  13. Try the real bluegill color. It catches fish in the middle of the day during times that are not typical topwater times.
  14. I love the FG knot, its a game changer in my book. I tie a new leader just about every other outing. I dont have troubles with 3-4 oz baits on my NFC NEO HV with a tranks 300 and i have that set with 2 brakes. Thats why im asking SU. So thanks dink whisperer, thats good feedback. I turned on 4 brakes, hopefully it helps with stopping that random backlash. My mechanics are improving, but that 250 still feels clumsy. I can cast a megadog into ohio. I bought a curado 200k that i could never get right. Then after i took it apart and removed all the factory grease and regreased it and oiled it, works like a champ. Maybe i should do that to the 300k
  15. Its not constructive until you say why
