  1. I buy all my hardwoods and exotics from a sawmill. I'd recommend searching your area for a high quality sawmill that kiln dries and carries quality woods.
  2. Looking good dude. Can’t wait to see the progression!
  3. Thanks! took my time and stumbled through it. Also, sent about a thousand dms to a couple guys on here asking question after question lol. Picked up enough maple yesterday to cut 25-30 more blanks. Hopefully by the time I hit #30 I’ll have some idea what I’m doing!
  4. Thanks dude! It needs some work, but it taught me a lot that I can apply to the next one!
  5. I went ahead and gave it a test drive. Not the best glide in the world, but I'm happy with it as a first attempt. Gonna tweak a few things and see if it helps get a smoother glide. Recommendations/Suggestions welcome! Couldn't get the video to upload on SU, so sent it to YT. Hope that's cool.
  6. Awesome work dude! Glad to see you came back to wood. I’ve done a lot of bait modeling in fusion, but there is something extra special about taking a block of wood and sculpting it into your vision. Can’t wait to see more!
  7. Thanks @Jim137a! Soon is the plan. I ordered some clear to go on it, should be here Tuesday. Then it’s going in the pond, or the pool at the campground across the street lol.
  8. Got the chance to mess with the airbrush the last 2 nights. I have a lot to learn, and really appreciate all the help from everyone! Now I have a good idea just how smooth I need to actually get the bait before I start painting lol. Painting was kind of a train wreck, but it could have turned out worse.
  9. @SVT THUNDER That info is much appreciated! Ended up buying the Eclipse HP-CS along with the .5 needle/nozzle. Spent today on the lake since we got a little break in the rain. Gonna start learning this airbrush this week.
  10. Going to run by harbor freight later today to pick up some lock wire, and a few other random things. Question: Is a harbor freight airbrush worth picking up? I don't know anything about painting, and don't want to spend a bunch of money on an airbrush if something like the harbor freight will get me by while learning the basics. Thanks!
  11. @Jinxd12 right on. Waiting on the sealer to dry, then gonna dunk to get some weight figured out. Hoping to test it Saturday.
  12. Thanks @AsaProch. The pin is a little bit off center, which is kinda driving me nuts lol. Upside is I can fill the holes and try again if I need to.
  13. Split the bait and started adding hardware this evening. No clue what I'm doing, probably committing all the sins. All I know is it has a joint, and it moves. I guess now is where the real learning starts.
